Brandy took the time to understand what I was looking for in a house - open/spacious kitchen, renovated bathrooms, garage, etc. She worked closely with me for several months to tour at least a dozen homes and to see different styles in person. She would revise searches and send me more listings that fit my profile. Throughout the process, Brandy was very responsive. She helped answer any maintenance or pricing questions I had on the houses and the home I ended up purchasing. ZillowVERIFIED Thank you Brandy and Ryan Dufrene for helping me sell my unsellable house: You are ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? real estate professionals??My four-bedroom, two-bathroom brick ranch house (circa 1960) was a challenging sale, to put it mildly. It could have been on a special episode of "The Unsellables" titled "The Ultimate Unsellables." I only had enough of an inheritance to only partially renovate it and bring it up to code. My contractors did an excellent job renovating the kitchen, so it baffles me how they could have fumbled so badly with the bathrooms. (If you hire a contractor to renovate your house, ALWAYS demand a computer rendering of the finished product. NEVER settle for written lists of materials and tasks to be done with them. NEVER accept vague verbal assurances that everything's going to be great. See what the finished renovation is supposed to look like before any work begins, and you can see what the contractor overlooked!)As if the house didn't have enough issues, there is the matter of its location: The Great Dismal Toxic Swamp of New Orleans East. Soil subsidence and foundation problems are a perennial issue for older structures there. It's not far from the rotting corpse of the Six Flags Amusement Park, and a dumping ground for actual rotting corpses. It's also a dump for tires and burned out cars. The actual New Orleans dump is located there, as are way too many junkyards. There are seedy bars and motels, and the sketchy characters that frequent them. There were abandoned boarded-up dilapidated buildings well before Hurricane Katrina (and a few others since) devastated the area.New Orleans East has all the problems of living in New Orleans, with absolutely none of the benefits. You would never know it's Mardi Gras or Jazz Fest, or any other festival or a Saints game living out there. Everything good New Orleans has to offer is half hour drive away on Interstate-10 on a good day. The streets are not just in terrible condition, they are in third world country earthquake-damaged condition.It was into this environment that my real estate agent Brandy Dufrene and her husband and business partner Ryan boldly stepped in. They are a great team! While Brandy tackles the marketing, paperwork, legal and bureaucratic nitty-gritty, Ryan does the grunt work of rectifying the deficiencies identified by building inspectors. In my case, he used his power grinder to remove cast iron burglar bars from all the windows, and changed out keyed deadbolt locks for code-compliant latched locks. My previous agent at Keller-Williams Realty would just give me names and phone numbers to call. I would have to hope those guys would actually show up to do the work aEUR" if they bothered to answer my calls & texts at all.It is with pleasure that I can wholeheartedly recommend the team of Brandy and Ryan Dufrene: If they can sell my house, they can sell yours!
