ZillowVERIFIED My husband and I had worked with Becky Quinby twice before. Once buying our first rental property, and once selling our condo before we moved to Oregon. Becky was not the owner of Quinby and Webb when we used her as the agent to find our rental property. But the great experience we had with her then, is what made us decide to use her as the listing agent for our condo. Again, this experience was excellent. Her communications were transparent and clear, she seemed to genuinely care about our outcome and whether we were happy with it, and addressed every concern we had with thorough and skilled answers. We believed we had a positive relationship and that we could trust her to represent us as an agent with our best interests in mind should we ever need a real estate broker in the future. These positive experiences are what made us choose Quinby and Webb last fall to sell our rental property in order to reinvest in other opportunities. Our previous experiences made us sure we couldnt be making a better choice. We could not have been more wrong! This experience was shockingly different! Most of the communications were opaque, felt as though information was being deliberately kept from us, and many of our questions and concerns were either made light of, or went completely unanswered. The worst part about this transaction is that it felt as though Quinby and Webb were doing more to represent the buyers interests rather than ours. Many times when we attempted to address concerns with Becky, responses consisted of denials, insults, veiled threats of litigation, and a aEURoegotchaaEUR? approach. While our communications with Quinby and Webb were not perfect, we are not the real estate agents. We were supposed to be able to rely on them as the listing agent to work for our best interests; that is there job and what anyone hires a listing agent for. At the end of the day, it felt as though Becky would do anything to get the best deal for herself, even if she had to resort to suing us. We will never use them again. If we thought it would be at all productive, we would file an ethics complaint because no seller should have to go through what we went through. While she broke no laws and can cover her tracks (so to speak) Becky made the process of selling our investment property a nightmare! This review is our experience and not to be taken as advice

Also, in an extreme seller's market, we found a home that was listed above the market price and were actually able to negotiate DOWN from the list price. Becky helped us immensely by gently encouraging us not to offer too much for the home. We wouldn't have had much feel for what was wise to offer without her guidance, and we got a much fairer price than we otherwise would have due to her guidance. Finally, they provided staging of the home we sold at a very, very reasonable price. It made our previous home look more appealing than it ever did while we lived there, and was totally worth the money. She made is so easy for us and I couldn't be more happier with how everything went. We listed our home on a Thursday night and by Saturday night we were deciding which one of the 5 offers we wanted to accept. ZillowVERIFIED In mid-April my mother-in-law visited and decided the apartment we were living in was ridiculous. "This is ridiculous," she said, "You guys need to buy a home." My wife had been saying the same thing for about three months. So I said, "Ok, but remember, our lease ends July 1st and I'm going to Egypt (literally Cairo, Egypt, Africa) on June 15th for a LONG time." "No problem" said my wife. As you probably know, it was a HUGE problem. Lucky for me and my marriage, I had Nora and Becky of Quinby and Webb in my corner. Being South Minneapolis locals, they know the area well and were always available for whatever immediate, crazy showing times we wanted to schedule. They gave us the straight facts on homes and had a deep roster of professionals to make every step happen before I disappeared to the Middle East. The process of buying a home (where you're going to live!) can feel so opaque, faceless, impersonal, but Nora and Becky put real people, neighbors, in the position of mortgage broker, home inspector, etc., the same people they use for their own homes (just chatting with our mortgage broker, it turns out I work with his brother). When you buy a home, you're moving into a community. Nora and Becky kicked off that move for us, swiftly, professionally, knowledgeably. Saving my marriage was a nice fringe benefit.
