This was where Arlene really shone: in addition to the areas we had been considering, she recommended that we look in the Rose Garden, a lovely neighborhood that hadn't been on our radar at all. There's no way that would have happened if we'd used an agent who was less familiar with the San Jose / south bay area. So quick in fact, that we were able to put together a competitive offer that was accepted hours before the open house showing the same day (and closed in just 3 weeks!). As a first time home buyer, I wasn't aware of everything that went into the purchase, but Arlene made everything so easy. At the end of our first meeting, Arlene suggested a few areas where we would get something that met our needs and within the first two tours, we were feeling quite optimistic. She educated us about the different factors that add value to a home and helped us prioritize our wish list. She was very patient and always answered our numerous questions adequately. Arlene always made the time and arrangements to help us see any house multiple times if we wished to. She offered her honest and unbiased opinion about any house that we saw and steered us out of dubious areas or houses with not so apparent issues. She was very good with providing the comparables and suggesting the right price to offer. She also put in a lot of effort in providing the right information to the appraiser to help our house that we eventually bought, to be appraised at the value that we bought at (and it did!!)
