Our first home was quite large...It, in fact, ended up being too much house, too far from work, and in a town we didnt really like. She was pleasant and knowledgeable, but tended to treat us as the young buyers we were. When we needed her to stand up for us during the purchase, we were herded through the process and in the end, not satisfied. Fast forward 10 years and were in the market again for a home. This time, we interviewed potential agents (yes...WE interviewed them) to find out who is a good fit. This process is very common in large cities and for corporate properties But, we quickly found out that here in Wilmington, some residential agents were sort of offended at the idea of being interviewed. Some declined and one told us as much. However, Andrew gladly accepted the interview. During the interview he was professional yet personal. He stated that he valued his time and ours. As a result he would always do whatever we asked, but share the knowledge he had with us so that all of our decision would be informed. And that he did! Along the way he learned our likes and dislikes. He never pressured us to buy (we worked with him for about five months before we settled on a new home). He pointed out things at properties that could potentially need attention. He stuck by us when we needed him to do so. In the end, it all felt more like friends helping friends more than it felt like a business transaction. But, make no mistake...As it was a business transaction, Andrew handle his business and made sure we did, too! Closing was effortless and we really enjoy our home.
