He was with us the day before closing helping me to paint, caulk, and clean up our place. We were quite hesitant to put our place on the market given inconsistent sales in the building. We recently closed on our first home in Silver Spring, MD within a month of starting the search process because of Andrew's experience, knowledge, dedication, and connections. After our first phone call with Andrew, we were sold. As first-time homebuyers, we were very uncertain and wary about the process, but Andrew immediately gained our trust by being very transparent, honest, and realistic about the process with zero pressure (i.e., telling us the process will take however long it needs to to find the perfect home). He listened to what we wanted and really nailed down what we needed in a house, able to see our long-term vision that we honestly could not yet (e.g., starting a family and what that truly means for functionality of a house). He would pre-view houses for us, letting us know if it was worth it to view or what to expect going in, which we loved. Andrew is also incredibly knowledgeable about the underworkings of houses (e.g., HVAC, roof, land grade for potential water damage/flooding issues, etc.), which was so important to us as first-time homebuyers since we obviously had little knowledge of what to look for. As someone working in the environmental space, Andrew was able to discuss the houses we viewed through that lens as well, which was another reason we immediately connected with Andrew. Once we were ready to put in an offer, he knew exactly what we needed to do to be competitive and get the house at a great price for us. During the closing process, Andrew walked us through it seamlessly, explaining everything along the way, and even getting the seller to pay for various needs and saving us money! Before meeting Andrew, we've owned 7 homes all over the country (5 new, 2 pre-owned), so we can be tough critics:-) After educating Andrew on some of our homes, he quickly got a feel for our taste/style. Andrew was a quick study. The "house hunting" weekend he scheduled made effective use of our time. In the end, he consulted with trusted colleagues and found us a new build that struck a chord with us. The lot, privacy, builder, and home were pitch perfect. The contract Andrew drew up was also well done. We worked together iterating on the contract with the builder. Andrew was very thorough and proactively got the builder to split some closing costs that saved us a considerable amount of money. Many real estate agents might have missed this opportunity. Andrew is also well versed at building codes, practices and materials. He advised me throughout the process on what options and materials might work best. Overall, this ended up being one of the best new home building experiences. Building a new home (and moving) is stressful. For us, the build process was 4-5 months (and we were managing the build remotely). Over that time period, Andrew successfully navigated MANY stressful interactions between the buyer/builder/agent. All that said, I highly recommend Andrew and now consider him a friend.

We had to tour properties virtually and Andrew was so accommodating, especially in the climate we were buying in he had to be ready to tour the property very fast and he was able to get them scheduled and made sure to ask all the questions that we wouldn't be able to ask since we weren't able to tour in person. He educated us on the best way to put in an offer and I think his knowledge is a large part of why our offer was accepted.
