This was our first home purchase, so I dont have much of a comparison. Our realtor from Huemmer was a totally different story! Sara White. Write it down, friends. I seriously cannot say enough good about her! She was not our first realtor, but as long as shes in this business- she will be our last. Our home journey took us through the highs and lows. Bursting pipes the day before closing, homeowners neglecting the heat and freezing appliances in the middle of winter, the horror stories abounded. I think our story will be referenced as an example of what you dont want to happen as part of your home-buying experience. Along every step Sara was pivotal in providing advise, advocating in sticky situations, and holding our hands when we had no idea what to do. She aced every single moment of this experience! I could easily write a 40 page book on all that Sara did, but Ill spare you the time. We bought a house during one of the toughest times to buy (May 2022). Not only did Sara finish out strong by writing a winning offer in a difficult situation, but she excelled through every high and low of our 7 month journey to secure our home! ZillowVERIFIED When my husband and I were contemplating selling our house in Madison, Wisconsin, we interviewed over half a dozen realtors. Nothing felt right until we met with Amber Huemmer. She came to chat with us early one summer morning while all 4 of our little girls were home. Upon arrival, it was as if meeting a member of our extended family. Amber was friendly and understanding of our situation, while still being extremely professional. She heard us out with our needs and concerns, simultaneously being bombarded with side chatter from 4 girls under age 6, and handled it all in stride. She could tell that we loved our home, however Amber was very down to Earth and real during our conversations. There was no sugar-coating of things, no "fluff" or trying to say something that we might want to hear. Amber told us "if it was me, here's what I would do," which I really appreciated. Her charisma and honesty were the main reasons we chose to go with Amber and the Huemmer Home Team. Amber did a full walk through and assessment of our home, looking at all of the work we put into our home in the 7 years we had been there. She didn't just base our list price on the comps in the neighborhood. Amber was confident in the number she gave us and told us we could get that, hands down. That number was what we were hoping for, but we were very hesitant because that number was HUNDREDS of thousands more than we were told by the multiple other realtors we interviewed who were basing things off of comps in our area (most homes were not updated like ours was). Amber did not stray from that given number. Because of her confidence and experience, we chose Amber to represent us, and we were so blessed to have her on our side. Amber was available day and night to answer any questions we had about the home selling process. The Huemmer Home Team helped us get our home show ready in less than a week, did appropriate marketing, held open houses, navigated us through an accepted offer and a post occupancy with the buyers, as they were moving due to job relocation. Amber was in constant communication with us via text, email, video recording, and three-way calls while my husband was at work and I was home with 4 kids. There are many reasons I can recommend Amber, but first and foremost is her many years of experience and her confidence in closing the deal. I also appreciated her honesty, professionalism, flexibility, patience and reassurance during what can be a stressful time for some people. Amber Huemmer is the best in the business. We were connected with Sara White, and were very happy with our experience. With this being our first time searching for a home we were fairly intimidated with the process, but Sara did an excellent job putting our minds at ease and walking us through the process in a clear, simple way.Once we started house hunting, we discussed the must-have characteristics in our desired home and Sara did a great job of sticking with that list and only suggesting homes that were consistent with these qualities. Sara also brought homes to our attention that we hadn't seen in our searches on popular real estate websites (one of which was the home we ultimately purchased).Visiting/touring homes was much easier than we had anticipated. Being new to all things house-buying, they patiently walked us through every acronym, financial question, and piece of paperwork. They were incredibly responsive, which was absolutely key given that we were searching for a house in a low inventory (made even lower by the pandemic) time with lots of people looking to buy. They made themselves available at all times of day, from early mornings and late at night on weekends to answer questions and see houses all over the city. My husband and I tend to be somewhat indecisive but with Amber and Chris we never felt any pressure or impatience. We truly felt as though they took the same care with us and our house search that they would have taken with a family member. In fact, we turned to her for advice multiple times, and every time felt that it was the answer she would have given her best friend. Amber's extensive experience in real estate in the Madison area meant that she noticed everything, like which local company had serviced the furnace in one house and that they were a great company. When she wasn't sure about something, she was able to reach out to her extensive network of connections and find the answer. Due to her experience with the Madison market, she was also able to share various tips and tricks that made our offer stand out in a very crowded field. After just two weeks of searching, having been made painfully aware of how wildly competitive the market is for buyers right now, Amber found a house off-market. She texted us right away and we got there before the photographer did to take listing pictures. It was everything we had been asking for (just when we were starting to think we'd have to let some "wishlist" items go), below budget (a feat given current market conditions), and in a fantastic location. Still, during the walkthrough, Amber was level-headed and made sure we were aware of potential issues (none of which ended up being big deals) rather than taking advantage of the time crunch and our excitement. Amber worked fast to get all the paperwork together, patiently walked us through it all line by line, and that evening our offer was accepted! Again due to Amber's connections, we were able to offer a speedy home inspection and even now as we work through closing, we are so lucky to have Amber to explain the process and have our best interests at heart.
