My wife and I were first time buyers, never dealt with an agent or any of the process before. Our loan originator gave me a few names, but Alens repeatedly came up. We were 2-3 days into the pre-approval process and about ready to try to select an agent, and Alens name kept coming up, aEURoeYeah yeah, call Alen, hes a rockstaraEUR?, aEURoeHes a first time buyer advocate so to speakaEUR?aEUR| so we called him on a whim one late evening about 8:00. He answered first ring, very professionally for being later evening too. He called us back after finishing dinner with family and we spoke with him until after 10pm, well over an hour. He then proceeded to send us listings that met our criteria that evening, and we were viewing houses two days later on a Saturday morning!! This gives just a sneak peak of his level of commitment. Alen was described to us as a rockstar, and he certainly is!! I have an engineering background and as such, have been known to be too thorough (see the length of this review ??) and I'm also a worry wart. I became known as aEURoethe question guyaEUR? to everyone involved in our transaction, even an inside joke with our closing agent. The point?... Alen took all our questions and concerns in total stride and continually put our worries to rest. For a month and a half, we were in nearly daily contact with Alen, and he always responded promptly. Whether it was answering specific property questions, scenarios, what if questions, even reviewing loan documents to explain estimates and line items to us. He is a communications master! With his help, we moved quickly on a first home we really liked and checked most of the boxes after viewing several the first weekend working with him. That fell through due to well hidden termites and items the seller should have disclosed prior to any prospective buyer, us, placing an offer. We were all baffled by the setback. It was a gut blow to my wife and I, but it happened for a reason! While a huge let down, not to worry, Alen was looking elsewhere while at the inspection with us. We viewed several more that day and bam, found our home! Another hiccup with this home though in that the seller made, lets call it, an unreasonable counter to a sensible repair requestaEUR| Alen even told them as such and we backed out on a Friday evening after much dismay in less than 30 minutes of hearing the news. The following morning, a Saturday, Alen called me, his comments to the seller seemed to maybe hit a note, and they wanted to work out a deal and not lose the sale. He continued through to help us with selection of contractors of our choosing to complete corrective work and keep all other aspects of the sale moving. He handled all the communications with the sellers agent, contractors and us with literal ease Id call it. This was excruciatingly stressful for my wife and I, not sure if wed meet the closing date. Alen though, he remained calm and nailed it!! We closed right on time, no extensions necessary. Had it not been for house #1 falling through and house #2 having delays due to the seller, Alen could have had us in, in probably about 2 and half weeks. From emails, texts, electronic offer documentation, counters, everything, he is FAST!!! He is that proficient and works well with lenders and communication in that direction too. After all, our lender is who turned us onto Alen. If youre a first-time buyer and stressed or worried at all about finding a home, or how aEURoedauntingaEUR? it will be, put your faith in this guy. On top of explanations of things, we encountered along the way, we consider Alen a good friend after all of this. My lengthy review only brushes the surface of some of our transaction. He really did look out for our interests, no questions asked from him. Nothing we asked or wanted was aEURoetoo muchaEUR? or ignored. His demeanor in easy and stressful times (hed never had to walk away from a home, much less almost a second, until meeting us) is what makes the home buying fun.
