Buying a home can feel overwhelming, but the best thing you can do is start by getting clear on your budget and securing a solid pre-approval. From there, keep an open mind—sometimes the right home doesn’t look exactly like what you pictured at first. I also encourage buyers to focus on long-term value: location, neighborhood, and lifestyle often matter just as much as the house itself. And finally, lean on your agent. My role is to guide you through the process, help you spot things you might miss, and make sure you’re set up to make a confident decision.

The beat advice I can give to sellers is to think like a buyer. First impressions matter, so small improvements—fresh paint, decluttering, and good lighting—can make a big difference. Pricing is also critical; the market sets the value, and overpricing can cost you time and money. My job is to market your home in a way that highlights its strengths, reach the right audience, and guide you through negotiations so you walk away with the best outcome.

I’ve had the chance to work with a wide range of clients—from first-time homebuyers and growing families, to investors and homeowners looking to downsize. Each client’s needs are different, and I take pride in tailoring my approach so the process feels clear and comfortable no matter the situation.

A recent favorite was working with a young couple buying their first home in Southeast Portland. They fell in love with a craftsman that had multiple offers on the table, so we had to be strategic. I walked them through strengthening their offer without stretching beyond their comfort zone—things like tightening contingencies, writing a clean, straightforward offer, and presenting it quickly. We ended up winning against several higher bids because the sellers valued certainty and a smooth process. Guiding my clients from that stressful first tour to the moment they got their keys was a reminder of why I love this work.

What began as a nudge from my best friend has turned into a career where I get to connect people with the kinds of homes and neighborhoods that inspire me. I’ve always had an eye for architecture and a fascination with how different eras leave their stamp on homes—from mid-century details to modern design trends. Pairing that interest with my background in service made it feel like a natural fit.

Beyond my existing experience in the real estate industry, I enjoy staying current with continuing education courses to keep up with changes in contracts, laws, and market practices. Before real estate, I spent decades in sales and customer service, which taught me how to listen, problem-solve, and advocate for clients. That combination of formal training and real-world experience helps me guide people through the buying and selling process with clarity and confidence.
