Abe Alasasf

Having been born in Athens, Ohio at O'Bleness Hospital, raised in Athens County, and an alumnus of Athens High School and Ohio University, I like to say "It doesn't get any more Athenian than that". I grew up in the old mining town of Millfield, off Route 13, in Northern Athens County where I attended the late Chauncey Elementary. As a child I enjoyed my summers riding my bike, fishing, playing in the nearby creeks, and jumping around the coal heaps at the old Millfield Mine disaster. In high school I was a varsity letterman in football and wrestling and for a season I was a collegiate cheerleader at Ohio University.

In 2011 I met my soon to be wife, while both of us were attending Ohio University. In 2013 we got married and we both settled down and bought our first house in Athens. In October of 2016 we had our first child and spread our roots even deeper in Athens. We are invested in and in love with this area. I have travelled extensively East to West and back across this country and have come to realize Athens will always be my home.

In my spare time my wife and I enjoy being local foodies at the many local eateries here in Athens, as well as traveling around the country and the world. I am an avid outdoorsman, which loves hunting, fishing, hiking, camping and sitting around a fire on a cool summer night. In addition to this my other hobbies include gardening, board gaming, cooking, and botany.

With roots as deep as mine to this area, I have an extensive knowledge of the region. From the Northeast corner of Athens County to the banks of the Hocking and Ohio River, I have you covered with all you may want to know about our beautiful region.
