Thousands of miles away, no boots on the ground, relying entirely on someone I'd never met in person to help me navigate a market I didn't know. That's a stressful position to be in. But from the first conversation, Abby made the whole process feel manageable. Her local knowledge is where she really set herself apart. West Michigan has its own personality: the neighborhoods, the school districts, the quirks of different communities, what's worth the price and what isn't. She didn't just know the market from a data standpoint; she knew it from the ground up. When I told her what I was looking for in terms of lifestyle, community feel, and long-term value, she didn't start throwing listings at me. She asked the right questions first, then pointed me toward areas that actually matched what I was describing. That kind of insight is what separates someone who knows the MLS from someone who genuinely knows the region. The remote piece of this can't be overstated. I was still in Texas when we started working together, so everything had to happen through video calls, e-mail and a lot of trust. She understood that dynamic without me having to explain it. She was proactive and pointed out things I wouldn't have thought to ask about -- lot orientation, what the street looks like at different times of day, what the surrounding neighborhood is actually like versus how it photographs. She was my eyes on the ground, and she took that seriously. Her responsiveness was one of the most impressive things about the entire experience. Anyone who's been through a home purchase knows the anxiety that comes with waiting on answers. There were moments I had a question or a concern and expected to wait hours to hear back. That didn't happen. She was consistently fast, not just quick replies, but thoughtful ones. She wasn't checking a box, she was actually engaging with whatever I was asking, and that made a huge difference in my confidence throughout the process. When we finally made the trip out to West Michigan, I already felt like I knew the market because of all the knowledge that Abby conveyed. The in-person portion felt focused and efficient rather than overwhelming. We weren't starting from scratch. We were executing a plan. Her recommendations were spot-on at every step, guidance on new construction, questions to ask the builder, connecting me with the right people along the way. With the market being so hot and with us living across the state, she was proactive in scouting out houses for us. She did video tours and eventually found us the perfect house--and it was not even on the market. So above and beyond! Once we found the house, she helped us negotiate a great deal with the sellers and helped us get our offer solidified. When we were under contract we were connected with her processing team which included Katie and Leigha. They kept us up to date on inspections, loan process and title. Everyone was so helpful and when we had questions we never waited long for an answer. Review I met Abby through a computer generated "would you like to see this property?" I had a very specific request, downtown condo. She did not flood me with showings of anything else. She only called when appropriate, unlike other realtors who were calling at random. I met her January 2020 I think. When looking at condos, I valued her opinion. She spoke honestly, She never tried to ignore an obvious negative with a showing. She Never tried to push a property that did not match my needs. She listened and kept my price range in mind. When we did find a place, she put in the offer, that was lower than asking, and held steady when selling realtor questioned it.
