My family has worked with Kathy Stockley on 2 separate transactions. She helped us buy our first home back in 1999. I could not have asked for a better realtor to work with. She was so informative and knowledgable about all aspects of the buying process that it made it such a smooth transition for us. Our second home was purchased in 2011, when we decided to sell our first home. Kathy worked endless hours to market and sell our first home all while searching for our next home. She walked us through the whole buying and selling process in such a great way, that, with her knowledge and aggressive expertise we were able to put 20% down on our second home. I cannot say enough about Kathys knowledge, honesty, professionalism, and, most especially, her deeply caring nature which prompts her to go above and beyond expectation in representing her clients. Last fall, following the death of my mother, Kathy showed me how to improve the marketability and appeal of her home which had a beautiful setting but was in need of some TLC. She helped me indentify issues that needed to be addressed and even found contractors to address them for me. Her knowledge of the types of financing available for this home and the state of the market in the area were invaluable in identifying and assisting prospective buyers. When I required surgery during the process, she not only kept me informed, she saw to the finishing touches personally, and picked me up and drove me to the closing. Kathy is an amazing realtor. She got us into our very first home and the process went perfectly, especially from a first time buyers perspective. She made sure we understood everything that was happening along the way and what options we had at every point of the purchase process. We loved our first home and stayed there until we had to move for work. At that point we knew exactly who we wanted to sell our home and to help find us another great home. Kathy got us into our second home where I know we'll stay for a long time. The sale of our first home was just as smooth of a process as when we purchased it. Kate was a blessing in our home search process. I have heard so many horror stories of home buying and bad relators that it nearly put me off to the whole experience. But after a friend recommended Kate, my wife and I decided to give it a shot. It would be an understatement if we said that we were impressed by her knowledge and work ethic.Since Ive never worked a real estate job - nor bought a house before - I am not able to say with certainty how the process typically goes, or even an agents average work load. Though I can say I know what a hard days work looks like, and I can tell you that Kate puts in the effort to earn your satisfaction. Her knowledge of real estate and the insight she provided on the homes we visited was truly invaluable. With each house we walked into, Kate could help us see potential issues we may not have thought of and renovations that would suit our tastes, inform us on how likely it was for us to get a loan on the property, and even was able to point out the positives of the property based on our search criteria. This is to speak nothing of her tenacity in making sure things go as smoothly as possibleWe quickly became aware of the multi-layered process that comes with buying a home and the overwhelming feelings that often accompany it. But Kate did a stellar job of making sure everything was kept in order. There were times when she had to hound other realtors to make sure we could get into a house viewing or if an offer had been submitted properly. Even on short notice, we were always impressed with the amount of information she could give us on listings and pricings in the area we were looking.The biggest life saver for us was during closing, when we had to deal with the mortgage itself. Being first time home buyers, there was so much to figure out and understand, and the process could have been a much bigger nightmare had we not had Kate to help us every step of the way. Kate diligently worked to ensure the process went as smoothly as possible - advocating for us, making sure that promises were being fulfilled, and working as the middle person so we didnt have to worry about who to talk to or what to do next. She also helped us through the paperwork on the final closing day so we could understand everything we were signing and helped make it as painless as possible. We cannot recommend Kate highly enough; she is honest, knowledgeable, hardworking, kind, and sincere. One thing to remember about home buying: If you dont get the house you are currently looking at, then it was not meant to be; a better house that is more tailored to your needs is right around the corner. We have Kate to thank for teaching us this.
