Retirement offered my wife and I an opportunity to choose a new and unique lifestyle in a new and unique location. The location was a 2500 mile change from west to east coast and carried with it all of the challenges of a major move. Some things one should not attempt more than once in a life....this could be one of them!Comfortable with our freshly printed list of handpicked MLS homes, Andrea took us under her wing on a frigid January day in western North Carolina. Home after home were trudged in and then back out ...from golf course homes.... to mountain chalets.... to river retreats. After a day or two of this it seemed as though returning to California and retirement in California might also be a serious consideration.Finally Andrea suggested a home in an unknown community that we might want to "check out" if we were interested in taking a short drive. We accepted that challenge and our world has changed. Andrea had listened carefully to our reactions to each of "our" homes visited and systematically unraveled each of our hidden priorities...then found the home that was perfect for us. It met both of our unique personal interests,.....and more. Within a short 30 days from making an offer, loans were accepted, escrow has closed, and cross country moves have been made, California is a distant memory and the mountains of North Carolina are waiting to reveal themselves to an exciting and fulfilling retirement. If pinching yourself is any benchmark, we are both very "black and blue".Andrea and her staff of support personnel have made this the start of a new grand adventure. We will be eternally grateful to her and all of the people that have helped make this dream become a reality.
