MY STORY: I'm Mike Berg, co-owner of Berg Properties and a full-time Realtor serving the Western Suburbs of Chicago.
My mission is simple: give people the kind of real estate guidance I wish I had when I first started outaEUR"clear, honest, knowledgeable, and focused entirely on the client's needs, not the industry's habits.
My path into real estate wasn't typical. After a serious car accident and years of rehab, I realized what matters most: people, not spreadsheets. That shift pushed me from IT into appraising, and eventually into real estateaEUR"because I wanted work that actually helped people, not just filled a calendar.
When I was finally able to walk again, I knew I wanted a career with real purposeaEUR"something grounded in real conversations, real families, and real decisions. That led me deeper into real estate, then into appraisal work, and ultimately to building a company with my cousin Scott that reflects the kind of service we always felt people deserved: honest, responsive, and completely focused on their needs.
WHY I SERVE THE WESTERN SUBURBS: Starting out I spent 14 years as a licensed residential and commercial appraiser and dabbled in real estate investing. That background still shapes everything I doaEUR"how I value homes, how I advise clients on improvements, how I read the market, and how I negotiate. Today, with over 21 years in the business, I've helped more than 2,000 buyers and sellers across the Western Suburbs achieve their goals, from first-time buyers to luxury sellers to families navigating major life transitions.
