This type of conduct is extremely troubling for several reasons: 1. Failure to Verify Ownership aEUR" A licensed realtor is obligated to confirm that the person requesting a listing is the legitimate owner. In this case, no such due diligence was performed. 2. Negligence and Lack of Professional Standards aEUR" By proceeding without confirmation, the agent placed me at serious risk of property fraud, financial loss, and legal complications. 3. Violation of Trust and Professional Ethics aEUR" Realtors are entrusted with safeguarding property transactions. This type of careless practice damages public trust and raises questions about the integrity of the licensee. 4. Potential Violation of State Licensing Rules aEUR" Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) requires that licensed agents act with honesty, fairness, and reasonable skill in all transactions. The actions of this agent clearly fall short of those requirements.
