Having served twenty years in the military, I've had to move and buy/sell several homes. I can tell you, hands down, Tara is the best agent I have ever worked with. She's friendly, extremely easy to work with, very knowledgeable about the market/real estate, and is an excellent communicator! We bought and sold a home with her and she always went to bat for us dealing with the other agent and got us the best price. What really stood out about her though was how she went above and beyond to help my family each time. We are so grateful to Tara Shegogue. Earlier this year, she helped my girlfriend and me find the ideal house for us. We did not expect this to be an easy process. Our list of priorities alone made a house search seem daunting. We were looking for a home that checked a lot of boxes; the right mix of rural and suburban surroundings, reasonable proximity to family and work, size of house and yard that would be right for us. Factoring in the common knowledge that middle-class millennials were not meant to have nice things, we were expecting either a serious fixer-upper or ... a real nice shed. Tara listened to all our priorities, and worked very quickly to show us a property that checked basically all of our boxes. The location was ideal in terms of surroundings, commute, and proximity to neighbors. The house and its yard exceeded our expectations. And, somehow, this property fit into our price range without needing the list of repairs we had assumed we would be completing for years to come. In one showing, Tara had found us a house that provided everything we needed, and helped us put in an offer. In terms of finances, we were novices. Tara talked us through the homebuying process, and connected us with a lender who also understood our needs. She and this lender were able to offer us advice tailored to our situation; how much to offer, how to handle the thankfully-limited bidding war, how to make sure we weren't overstepping our budget. Tara also provided great recommendations for other services related to the property, including home inspection. Through this whole process, Tara treated our search not like a mere business transaction. She never pressured us to act one way or another. Over the few months we worked with her, my girlfriend and I felt that Tara listened to our needs, provided helpful and realistic advice, and skillfully led us directly to the perfect home for us.
