I cant speak highly enough of Tara as our real estate agent. Her professionalism, knowledge, honesty, integrity, and hard work are very much appreciated and respected. Ive bought and sold numerous homes in my life and Tara is the best agent Ive ever worked with. From the first time I reached out to Tara, she answered immediately and from there on out she was very responsive. She was a true professional. We always felt like Tara had our best interest in mind. We have and will continue to recommend her to all of our family and friends.

I thought Tara was great in the beginning, but then she started to lack communication. Tara resides in the East Valley and the houses I was looking at were in the West Valley. She did not want to drive to the West Valley, so at times Tara sent her very young (19 or 20 year old) Assistant who was not knowledgeable at all. Her Assistant did not even speak when I first met her, it was a very uncomfortable experience. Other times Tara would send her mom to meet me at houses. On one occasion there was a house I wanted to see (on a Thursday), but Tara told me she could not show it to me until the weekend. Currently houses are going so fast, when they first get listed you have to see them immediately, or you will lose out on them. I knew if I waited until the weekend, I would lose out on the house. So I called the listing agent of the house and that agent offered to show me the house an hour later! After I left the house, the agent even followed up with me. I texted Tara and told her that I viewed the house and that I wanted to put in an offer. I received text after text from her asking how I was able to see it. A soon as she found out the listing agent showed me the house, she was of course was on it so fast. In my opinion she did not want me to use that agent, because she would get double the commission and Tara would receive zero Tara said she already had the offer ready to go and she just wanted to know how much I wanted to offer. Tara was so fast to write up an offer, but not fast enough to drive over to the house and actually show it to me. She did not want to do any leg work. Fast forward - I was supposed to do the final walk thru 3 days before closing and the seller did not want to allow us access into the home until the day it closed. Tara tiptoed around the seller and did not support me as her client. I was able to get into the house at 5pm the evening before closing. That morning Tara sent me a text saying that she would not be able to make it to the walk thru because she was going to be at a signing and that she would (again) send her Assistant. Mind you, she didn't go with me to my signing, nor did she even know that I had even signed! The next morning (closing day) I got into an argument with Tara. She originally told me that my carpet guy could come to the house and measure and then she backtracked on her words. It was completely frustrating because I already had it scheduled and she implied that the carpet guy could not get into the house until it records. I informed her that she had told me that he could go to the house and that she would have the sellers agent put a contractor lockbox on the door. After she spoke to me like I was her child, I said, ok then can you meet the carpet guy at the house? She of course told me no that she was busy. At the end of this long drawn out conversation she finally agreed to let the carpet guy use the lockbox that was on the door. When the house recorded, she sent me a text saying it recorded and that I could get the key from the lockbox. This is the 4th house that I have purchased and I have never had a realtor not meet me at the house to give me the keys. She didn't care about meeting me at the house, I didn't even get a congrats, a thank you, nothing. All she cared about was making her commission and that's it. After being in the house for a few hours I noticed the toilet did not work. I sent Tara a text and she ignored it. I waited about 5 hours and sent her a very direct text, I got a response at that point. She blamed her lack of not responding on being pregnant. She sent some very rude text messages and basically told me since I already did a walk thru there was nothing that could be done and that I could call a plumber. Had Tara actually done her job and did the walk thru with me in the beginning, this probably could have been avoided. I reached out to Tara's broker, Jim K. and I explained in detail about Tara's lack of service and communication. He said he would reach out to Tara and have her contact me. I waited nearly two weeks hoping that she would reach out and at least acknowledge and take responsibility for the things she did, however she never reached out. I emailed her broker again, only to inform him that she did not try and reach out to me. At this point I didn't want her to contact me, since she would've only been doing it because she was told to, not because she actually cared. Her broker obviously contacted Tara and that evening Tara sent me several, very long nasty and rude text messages about the situation. If Tara would handled the situation with class and addressed everything before I had to reach out to her broker, I would've never posted a review about her. I want other people to be aware of how Tara behaves and acts and hopes this helps anyone who might decide to use her as a realtor. There are a ton of great agents out there and I'm sad that I didn't do more research before hiring Tara Keator.
