Steve Thayer

With 16+ years of experience in the real estate industry and overseeing thousands of successful transactions, Steve is undoubtedly one of the top industry experts in Colorado. He is currently the Managing Broker/Owner of both The Thayer Group and Keller Williams Action Realty, one of the largest and most productive real estate brokerages in Castle Rock. Steve has developed an extensive and impressive understanding of real estate transactions, and is extremely proficient at bringing a deal from writing an offer to closing. He recently earned a Certificate in Negotiation Mastery from Harvard Business School Online to further improve and refine his negotiation skills. Steve is highly involved in the REALTOR(R) community, currently serving on the Board of Directors for the National Association of REALTORS(R) (NAR). He has previously served as President of the Board of Directors for the Denver Metro Association of REALTORS(R) and as Member of the of the Board of Directors for the Douglas Elbert REALTOR(R) Association. As a prominent and respected leader in the real estate industry, Steve has received numerous awards throughout his career, including Denver Metro Association of REALTORS(R) REALTOR(R) of the Year (2021), Douglas Elbert REALTOR(R) Association REALTOR(R) of the Year (2015), and RE/MAX Southeast Rookie of the Year (2008). His business success has also earned Steve professional accolades, including 5280 Magazine Five Star Real Estate Agent (2013-present), Keller Williams Platinum Agent (2013, 2016-present), Keller Williams Quadruple Gold Agent (2015), and Keller Williams Triple Gold Agent (2014). Outside of real estate, Steve is also very passionate about community involvement, and currently serves or has previously served on many boards and commissions, including the Meadows Metro District 1 Board of Directors, Castle Rock Public Safety Commission, Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (Chairman, 2007-2008), Castle Rock Parks & Recreation Commission, Castle Rock Liquor License Authority (Co-Chair, 2000-2001), and the DCS Montessori Educational Foundation Board of Directors. Steve and Susan have received multiple awards for their community involvement from the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce, including Small Businessperson of the Year (2022), Volunteer of the Year (2017), and Citizen of the Year (Nominee, 2010). In his free time, Steve enjoys watching TV shows and sports, attending Denver Nuggets games with his family, crossword puzzles, and playing backgammon. Steve earned a M.Ed. in Sports Management from the University of Georgia and a B.A. Economics from the University of Connecticut.
