Be patient. Have fun with it. Follow the steps provided by your agent. And trust that your agent can get you to the finish line. Some buyers it may take them a couple weeks to find a home. For others, it may take a couple of months. We, as agents, are there for you, no matter how long it takes!

Definitely find someone that is honest with you. Selling a home is not only a personal journey, it is a business transaction also. Your agent is there to help guide you. There are a lot of emotions that happen when selling and your agent is there to ground the emotions and help you move along in the process. Have fun with it and enjoy the ride. The other side of the mountain is attainable if everyone works together!

A recent transaction I had was a couple that had been in there house for 25 years. They raised their kids there and the kids were gone. It was a 3000SF house where they only used 3 rooms anymore - kitchen, living room and their bedroom. They tried to sell their house a year prior to me coming in and it never sold. We met. We all knew we could work together and get this done. Their goal was to buy a condo in Florida and one in Dayton with the sale of this house. Well, they achieved the goal!! It was an emotional transaction, but they knew it had to happen. We put together a plan and worked through each step to get to the finish line. I have a few stories about downsizing, but that one is the most recent. It is truly fulfilling to help someone close one chapter and start a new one. I know that sounds corny, but I don't even know how else to describe it!!!

I got started in real estate after I lost my job in 2009 while on maternity leave. Real estate was something that always popped into my mind, but I was too scared to do it. It is all commission-based, and with a newborn and no job, I figured, NOW is the time!!! Crazy, right? Well, it all worked out. It wasn't easy, but it worked!
