Not a great experience with Scott. I have been trying to buy the property next door to me for years. The prior owner had my name and number, but decided to sell the lot as a distressed property to Scott, APX owners investment company. No calls were returned by the office when I called prior to listing. I hire a real estate agent to purchase the property once it was listed on the mls, and he doesnt get a call back when he calls the office. I finally reach out to Val, another agent at the office, who was very helpful in getting me in touch with a listing agent so that we could submit an offer. We submit an offer, they take days to respond. Mid negotiation on the purchase price Scotts agent announces that Scott has decided to re-evaluate the property since he bought it not knowing there was a septic on the lot. We are the ones that let him know that both lots he purchased had a septic!!!!!!!! I get frustrated and email the agent my disappointment and Scott sends a long winded apology letter that this isnt how he likes to do business, but he can make a lot of money on this lot since there is a septic. He stated in caps he wasnt planning on not selling the lot to me and that he wasnt planning on increasing the price, but needed to have the septic inspected before moving forward and hoped we could still do the deal. He states he could get in trouble if there was an issue with the septic and would reach out after inspection and let me know how he plans to move forward. He finally reaches out after the septic is inspected, and lets me know he isnt going to sell the lot now, he is going to build a house or shop or something on it and he can make more money that way. So glad we could do all the work for him to figure out what he owns so he can make more money. Meanwhile, he wasted all of our time negotiating on a lot in bad faith, because he didnt know anything about the 2 lots he bought and listed for sale. He certainly has every right to do so, but My agent didnt get paid for his research on the septic. I'm stuck with a freshly cleared dirt field next to me. Just really a bad experience and a big waste of everyones time so he can make some more money. A LOT of time was spent trying to purchase this property.
