About Ronald Hanger
Meet Ron Hanger, a Duluth native and Realtor dedicated to efficiently guiding clients to their real estate goals with minimal disruption. It's a family affair for Ron; The Freeman Hanger team includes Ron, his nephew Wade Freeman, Brandon Lee, Candy Lee, and his brother Doug Freeman, who recently retired in 2025 after 43 years in the business. Real estate runs in the family; Ron and Doug's great-grandfather and his brother operated a real estate company in the early 1900s. Ron began his career in retail management. At 20, he transitioned to real estate, graduating from The American Real Estate School in 1977. In 1982, he became a single parent and launched All Star Photos, focusing on team sports, weddings, graduations, and reunions. His business expanded to include two One Hour Photo Labs, a studio, video store, and tanning. He returned to real estate in 2004, joining his brother Doug, sister-in-law Linda, and nephew Wade. He has assisted various clients, including future homeowners, first-time buyers, sellers, investment buyers and sellers, and those dealing with short sales and foreclosures. In 2011, after 2.5 years of coursework, Ron earned the CRS designation, the most challenging residential designation, requiring a high volume of business and extensive education. Only 4% of Realtors hold this designation, but they complete 38% of transactions nationwide. Ron's hobbies include golf, photography, kayaking, live concerts, spending time by a fire with friends, and in the last year, traveling around the country to watch his 9-year-old grandson from the Phoenix area play Ice Hockey and Roller Hockey tournaments. Before vertigo in 2013, he also enjoyed downhill skiing and motorcycle riding. Ron enjoys trips to the Phoenix area to spend time with his son Ian, his son Caleb and his family, which includes three daughters and a son. Ron also has a daughter Nicole and her husband Justin, his daughter Solveigh and their son Grayson in Duluth. Ron has been married to his wife Patti, a fellow native Duluthian, since 1986
