Local knowledge: She knows her market very well in Canyon County (Caldwell/Nampa) and has had a lot of success selling homes here. This is what initially led me to talk to her. I was recommended to her by someone who has bought a CBH home.Process Expertise: Outstanding. She is very knowledgeable with the CBH Homes process. She gave great recommendations for my floor plan and I am very happy with. This is, of course, when she is willing to meet and answer phone calls.Responsiveness: Awful. She would ignore texts and phone calls from me when I would have questions. I even asked my wife to call her right after she ignored my call, and she answered my wife. I am a disabled veteran and unfortunately take medication that negatively affects my short term memory. I never called to just have a conversation. Buying a home for the first time, along with the process of having it built, is one of the most stressful things I have gone through. I was hoping that using her as my real estate agent would have relieved some of that stress. She only made it worse.Renee also didn't show up when it was time to close. She wasn't the one who handed me my keys to my home. However, she got paid her commission from the sale of my house. I was not impressed at all.Negotiation Skills: Depends on the demographics. If you are from out of state, a cash buyer and make her job as easy as possible, have no questions and have plenty of time to wait for her to respond, you will be great. If you are using a VA loan for the first time, trying to work out appraisal expectations, have questions about what parts of the home value were taken into consideration with an appraisal, you know, first time home buyer questions. Probably best to use an independent agent outside of the CBH network. Also, not appropriate for an agent to tell a consumer to relax and undermine them in front of other professionals doing business with them, aka, my lending officer she referred me to. At the end of the day, I got my home, and I am happy with it. I was not pleased with the process going through Renee and how she disregarded things that were important to me, the buyer.
