1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Speaking with a lender about your financing options is the very first step to getting you started with a home purchase. Your lender will prequalify you for a home, discuss with you a comfortable budget and include any contingency options to assist with closing costs if needed. Once the pre-approval is done connecting with an agent and speaking to them about the entire buying process, someone to work with you and represent you & your best interest, every step of the way is step 2. Buyer agent representation is the norm in most states ... don't go it alone, your biggest investment should be protected working alongside a professional Realtor of your choice.
2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Preparing the home for sale is the most critical phase of your home sale! From various improvements to net the most money, to needed improvements to prevent inspections hiccups, to de-cluttering & staging to appeal to most buyers, don't forget the curb appeal for the drive-by buyers & full disclosure - educating the buyers about the home & property & having important documents available once the home is marketed. You have one shot to get it right once listed and 1st impressions sell ( quicker and for top dollar ). The full disclosures removes many buyer concerns, less negotiations and quicker decisions. Working with a top, local Realtor, someone with a proven track record in top sales. A Realtor who will begin the listing process with you months before marketing is key ! Pricing, professional marketing, negotiating skills all very important parts of the equation. Selling your home is an huge step, working with a Realtor who will commit to working with you from the pre-listing phase to bringing the transaction all the way through to the closing table, and through all the " in-between's " - inspections, appraisal, estimates, lender issues, attorney communications - is one that is clearly workign for your best interest and one that will bring you to a successful close.
3. What types of clients have you worked with?
My referral business encompasses every type of client—from first-time homebuyers to seasoned investors, move-up buyers, downsizers, relocation clients, trusts and estates, probates, and even second-home and vacation clientele. I’m fortunate to have a loyal database of raving fans who continually entrust me with their family and friends. Over the years, I’ve guided first-time buyers into their very first homes, helped them later upgrade with a sale and purchase, supported investors in adding sound, profitable properties to their portfolios, and assisted families navigating estate and probate sales. I’ve proudly helped hundred of families successfully sell & buy their homes—ranging from luxury estates to modest residences and even complete teardowns. Sellers, buyers, investors, and relocating families alike have all contributed to the steady growth of my business over the past 25+ years, and I remain grateful for every relationship built along the way.
4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
It's hard to chose one as they are all different & unique in their own way. The best part is that each transaction is a connection with either a new client or a past client with a new goal. No matter the client, realizing the clients needs, their time-frame, formulating a plan & then putting it all into action is the fond memory of each .... that journey from the starting point to the finish line and beyond. My biggest take away each time is the smiling faces at the closing table, the wonderful testimonials and turning my business relationships into lifetime connections. I love what I do and embrace each journey in a special way. One day I hope to write a book !
5. How did you get started in Real Estate?
I began my real estate career 25+ years ago, just one month after losing my job in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks. At the time, I was working as a VIP travel consultant for a large company on Long Island. With most travel suspended post-9/11, I suddenly found myself without work for the first time in my life. My husband and I had already been investing in real estate, so I made the leap, earned my real estate license, and never looked back.
I started with a luxury broker immersing myself in the luxury million-dollar market of Long Island’s North Shore. In 2003, my family relocated to the Capital District, where I began the exciting challenge of rebuilding my business from the ground up. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to enjoy a rewarding career, growing year after year, always rooted in my core group of past clients, the foundation of the RenatasHOMES!
I’m deeply thankful for this journey and for every client who has trusted me along the way. Here’s to continued growth and the many more years of serving YOU.
6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
Education and leadership are at the core of my business. I am highly committed to ongoing learning, not only for my own growth, but also to ensure my clients receive the highest quality of service. As part of a training-and coaching-based company, I take full advantage of every opportunity, from classroom sessions and masterminds to national events and conventions, which position me among the best of the best in the industry. Being in the top 10% of my company, I serve on the Associate Leadership Council (ALC) and participate in Mastery Coaching. These roles allow me to both sharpen my own skills and give back by mentoring and coaching new talent. Whether agents are just beginning their careers or looking to expand their business, I volunteer my time to help them succeed.
