Hire a realtor or broker who will meet with you to go over the home buying process with you so you know they know what they're doing to properly protect you and to make the process as seamless as possible. Also, get fully preapproved before shopping for homes.

If all a realtor can do to show you why you should hire them is to reduce their commission, then they likely aren't going to do much to get your home sold for the best price, terms, attract the right buyer and help you have the smoothest transaction as possible. Their solution to getting your home sold will likely be just keep reducing the price.

I've worked with all kinds of clients whether it's first time or experienced buyers, sellers, tenants, landlords, commercial leasing, investors, etc. Because of my skilled background, unique personality and passion for what I do, I am effectively able to work with all kinds of clients. However, I specialize in sellers that also need to purchase, whether it's upgrading to their dream home or down sizing.

My client had very high standards as a home seller and although we received offers in a short period of time, he was not pleased with them. The average realtor would've tried to get him to take one of the offers but I believe I have to work in the way that's best for my client based on what their real estate goals are. We got a decent offer later down the line but it was contingent on the buyer selling their home and I recommended that we accept it but not sign anything until they move past inspection as once we signed we were locked into a deal that wasn't certain. That was great advice because it turns out the deal the buyer had on his house fell apart after inspection and had we signed the offer, we would still be confined to the contract not knowing when the buyer would sell their home. Furthermore, a few days after we received the offer, we got another highly interested party in which I was able to negotiate a full price offer due to the fact that we had this offer. It ended up being the best offer for my client because the deal was seamless throughout the entire process and my seller sold his home at full price! :)

I was interested in investing in real estate and realized that it was advantageous to become a realtor and later realized that I enjoy the selling process no matter what I'm selling, it's about helping people and the joy I get when I've made them very happy at the end. In addition, when selling real estate, I have a strong passion in selling homes because I enjoy overcoming the challenges that arise and becoming the hero for my clients and the creativity I can use to get the job done that I can't get from a corporate job. Real Estate keeps things interesting! :)
