Nya Alemayhu

Nya Alemayhu comes to Compass from the high-end retail industry, where she spent 15 years building teams, developing relationships, and opening stores for some of the top retailers in the country. Nya is passionate about service and is fully committed to the client experience. An Ethiopian-American and fluent in Amharic, Nya specializes in assisting those with language barriers to find their perfect home. She is attentive, driven, intuitive, and dedicated to going the extra mile to meet all of her clients' needs.

Embracing her entrepreneurial spirit and seeking the fulfillment that comes from helping others, Nya started a yoga company where she guides her students toward alignment with their goals for holistic living; she brings this same approach to guiding her real estate clients in their home buying and selling.

In her spare time, Nya trains for marathons, guides weekly yoga classes, and practices her baking skills in the kitchen. She lives in the Chevy Chase neighborhood and loves continually discovering all that the DC metro area has to offer.
