Mr. Cortez has worked full-time in the Real Estate Brokerage and Financing Industries since being first licensed as an agent in 1976 and Real Estate Broker in 1984. He also has over 20 years of experience representing Banks in the sale of REO properties. The last five years have seen a tremendous increase of foreclosure sales, and Mr. Cortez has personally handled over 200 transactions, being located at the epicenter of the foreclosure activity in Southern California. Mr. Cortez began his real estate career at Red Carpet in Santa Fe Springs, CA. He joined International Real Estate Network in Norwalk California in 1978. He obtained his Real Estate Salesmen License and worked there from 1978 to1980. It was the experiences there that led Mr. Cortez to commit to a career in the Real Estate industry. He found that by becoming a Broker it gave him the opportunity to help home buyers and/or sellers take the next step to personal wealth development. From International Real Estate Network, he learned the basics of the industry and started the foundation of what would be an exceptional and dedicated career; spanning nearly 40 years. Mr. Cortez progressed into the position of Partner/Broker at Realty World Action from 1980 to 1997, where he continued in Real Estate to hone his sales, escrow, and lending skills. In this capacity, Mr. Cortez and his partners expanded the company's service by opening an escrow and mortgage division along with insurance and termite businesses. The skills that Mr. Cortez has developed and honed gives him an edge in his field. After his work at Realty World he briefly went on to work for Prudential California Realty and then Century 21 Masters in Walnut, California. Mr. Cortez transferred to RE/MAX Universal Realty formerly known as RE/MAX Realty 100 in Diamond Bar in 2007, where he works as associate Broker/realtor. He continually engages in coursework to improve his business acuity and furthers his accreditation and certification in the real estate industry. He provides clients with services utilizing the latest technologies and the best business practices. Not only does his performance lead to satisfied clientele but he has created a wealth of lasting relationships with clients and business contacts. Since establishing a career in Real Estate, he has expanded his work into related fields of business to expand his knowledge in the housing industry. Mr. Cortez continually involves himself in community events, having supported the work of the YMCA as a board member, and supporting other non-profit organizations such as the Youth and Family Club of Pomona Valley. He is a member of varied associations and boards to stay up-to-date on current policy issues related to the real estate industry.
