I live a distance from where I was purchasing. Missy knew the area SO well. Once she knew what type of area I was looking for (permanent residents) she steered me away from communities that were more ...
1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Prequalify first. The process is easy and necessary to understand affordability and to have offers taken seriously. You no longer need big money down. There are a lot of loan programs and chances are you'll fit into one of them just as you are.
2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Be extra flexible in allowing showings. We are at the mercy of the buyer's schedule and if they cannot see your home when they ask they may pass it up completely. Yes. It's an inconvenience but it is short-lived.
3) What types of clients have you worked with?
All kinds but Millenials and first time home buyers tend to be drawn to me. I think it's because I am patient and remember they are doing this for the first time and have most likely been told a lot of false information.
4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
Recently, a first time home buyer was guessing at how much house he could afford. When we qualified him he was able to purchase a lot more home than he thought and we were able to get him his dream home! Plus, his appreciation will be almost double what he thought he could afford so it is also a smart investment for the long run.
5) How did you get started in Real Estate?
I worked as a paralegal in real estate for 15 years and often helped the buyer and seller agents in transactions. I enjoyed every aspect of the industry so getting my license and my seat in the profession seemed like a natural progression.
6) Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
I have earned my Accredited Buyers Representative and Seller Representation Specialist designations which helps me be a great negotiator and broadens my understanding of the real estate transaction. I am also endorsed by the National Association of Realtors by completing my C2EX education. Currently, I am a member of the Resident Real Estate Council where I am working towards my CRS designation. Only 3% of all agents in the nation of this designation.
