About Mike Boylan
My real estate career began in 1999. Prior to that I was in the U.S. Army infantry and was an Airborne Ranger in the 1st of the 75th Ranger Battalion. After my father passed away, I came home temporarily to run my family's business. When it came time to return to the Army, I was so ingrained in the community and with family and friends, I decided to take an assignment close to home and go into the Army's Recruiting Command and stay in Ohio. Being in the recruiting command honed my selling, management and negotiating skills as did all the years I had spent running the family business, earning associate and bachelor's degrees and finally an MBA. During my recruiting career I recruited soldiers and nurses and for my next assignment I was in charge of the Cleveland Recruiting Battalion's Processing Center. I retired from the Army as the First Sergeant of the Canton Recruiting Company.
I was offered a position as a stockbroker with Edward Jones but my early memories were of my Mom as a Realtor with Cutler Real Estate and I always felt drawn to real estate. So I concluded real estate may be my "true calling". And over the years, I've found out it was! I was hired by Smythe, Cramer (who later merged with Howard Hanna in 2002) as an office manager and during my time with them I learned an incredible amount about real estate sales, policies and procedures, the psychology of sales and financing.
I joined Cutler Real Estate in 2009 and decided I could make a difference being a Realtor. The skills I had acquired previously were varied. I was knowledgeable in residential and commercial real estate, development planning, new construction, vacant land, land acquisition, and historic homes with credentials from the the National Trust for Historic Preservation program as well as the other credentials I had acquired over the years. I wanted to help buyers and sellers maneuver through their real estate transactions and make the transactions as effortless as possible.
Since I believe real estate is my calling, my philosophy is to never stop gaining personal knowledge on the subject and to know what's happening in the areas I serve and in the industry. In this way, I can work with buyers and sellers, listen to their input and advise and assist them with a plan to make their real estate transaction proceed smoothly.
