ZillowVERIFIEDAt first I thought I had landed a sensitive and responsive realtor. She did approach me about signing a contract right away on the first day which I though rather strange. I have worked with a realtor before and it was awhile before i signed a contract because she was really interested in me purchasing a home. Shana went through a lot of market analysis with me which appeared to be very professional. She had some good advise. But before I signed the contract, i shared i was in a really bad spot with selling my home due to harassment of a neighbor. I thought she understood that i also could not sell my home without seeing all of the possibilities in the market. I discussed price for buy, when i wanted to look at houses due to my schedule, etc. I ended up having to prompt her to send me stuff to look at, to set up appointments and to choose a day to go look at the houses. On the very first trip she steered me to look at two mobile homes with high condo fees, saying "she knows i wouldn't like them". Then why would she waste my time in going to look at two mobile homes that i would never even consider looking at? further, the last house was in a terrible area with a dirt yard in the backyard. Then i saw two beautiful homes after prompting her again to send me stuff to look at. in less than 24 hours...i mean literally...both houses were on contract she said. Didn't she know that when she set up the appointments for the house? I couldn't believe her...that was on a Saturday...then...i waited all week...just to see, is she going to send me emails of new houses that she said would come out on the market on Thursdays...silence. no word. I contacted her on Saturday...and she said she sent me emails. She sent nothing to the email she had been sending prior emails. Then she said she "resent" the emails. Then...i tried to make appointments and she told me "i'm all booked up on Sunday". Well...i knew after i shared with her my assessment of my not getting emails, choices are poor, etc...she said she didn't want to work with me anymore. What? because i told her the truth? She was steering me to stuff i didn't even want...and she was slow or nil in assertiveness to make sure i at least got the weekly emails of possible houses to look at. I wanted to sign the contract, but i never did because of the mobile home showings...and the lack of responsiveness and steerage to undesirables. Not listening to the customer is a sure way to lose the customer. I am African American and i thought she was really interested in my getting a new home. But she wasn't and I knew when I contacted her about my concerns, she would drop me. No matter. There are other realtors out there, but Shana Rowan...who may have helped some people, didn't help me.
