FAQ
1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
The first step is to get pre-approved for a mortgage. Know how much you can afford to make sure you are searching in the right price range, Also know what finance options are availble. Interview several Realtors to find the right match for knowledge of the market, expertise and area you are looking to live in.
2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Get a pre-inpection on your home before listing your property for sale. This will give you valuable information on what needs to be repaired before a buyer comes along. Get the heating system cleanded and inspected. If you have a septic system, get it cleaned and pumped before winter sets in. Check the radon levels in the house. If you have a well, have a water test peformed for bacteria. Have the chimney, fireplace, pellet stove or any other heating device serviced. This looks like extra work, however it will pay itself off in the future and avoid the extra stress of negotiations after the contact has been signed or loss revenue from costly repairs.
3. What types of clients have you worked with?
I work with all different types of clients. I specialize with first time home buyers who may need extra help and guidance with the purchasing process. I also specialize with veterans looking to purchase a home. I have a extensive knowledge when it comes to selling homes of all price ranges. I utilize the latest techologies with the Matterport 3D camera, drone videos, HD photography, staging furniture, staging services, walk through videos and a large portfolio of online marketing.
4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
I helped a family last year purchase a home. They worked very hard and were good contributers to the community. He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. After arriving back from treatment, his family was evicted from their home because the landlord was going into foreclosure. His wife was trying hard to keep the family together while spending countless hours working and taking care of her husband with special diets which required hours of food preperation. They wanted a home of their own. Knowing their situation, I donated my entire commission to pay for their closing costs so they could afford to purchase a home. He wanted to make sure his family was secure. Before he passed away, he got to enjoy watching his family move in and enjoy the dream of home ownership knowing they would be ok.
5. How did you get started in Real Estate?
I worked for a company working as a supervisor and also performed and managed the lab for quality control. When the recession hit, the labor force was reduced. I met a person who was in real estate. The idea fascinated me. After looking into it further, I knew this was the career for me. I had worked in retail for many years and enjoyed it. This seemed to be the next evolution for working with people.
6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
I currently hold 10 Designations and certifications from the National Association of Realtors that has taken 10 years to compete. I am currently working on 2 more that should be completed by the end of 2019. I average 60 plus ours a year in continuing education to stay current on a wide variety real estate related issues. I travel to three different conferences every year across the country for the best education available to help clients.

We couldnt be happier with the experience we had working with Mark Montross as our realtor. As first-time home buyers looking for a multifamily property in Vermont, we were pretty nervous about the whole process, but Mark made it an incredible experience from start to finish. His knowledge of the Vermont real estate market was impressive, and he was so generous in sharing his expertise with us. He guided us through the nuances of buying a multifamily home and answered every single question we hadaEUR"no matter how small or silly it seemed. He took the time to listen to what we were looking for and showed us properties that truly matched our needs and dreams. His attention to detail and proactive approach made us feel confident and supported every step of the way. Were thrilled with the property we ended up buying, and we owe a huge thanks to Mark for making our first home-buying adventure a positive and successful one. If youre looking for a realtor who is not only knowledgeable but also genuinely invested in your success, Mark is your guy. Were so grateful for everything he did for us! Thank you, Mark, for all your hard work and for being such a great guide through this journey!

Mark is an outstanding realtor! He is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of buying and selling.. and is meticulous with the details that make a sale successful. I was kept in the loop every step of the way. He was very thoughtful about leaving me with some furniture until closing after most of my living room was re purposed, leaving me with only two chairs until closing. He left staging furniture until he needed it and then brought in a couch and table until closing. Having me responsible for the inspections, etc, made it an easy transition at closing. I highly recommend him and my kids would recommend him also!!

Working with Mark was amazing. We were searching for a home to retire in from afar (in the height of the market), and Mark was on top of every detail. He organized numerous virtual showings for us until we found the right property for us. We followed his excellent advice at every step of the process, and it absolutely paid off. We intend to use him always! The best.

Working with Mark to sell our house and purchase a condo was an outstanding experience. In the past, selling and buying was long and harder to get what you needed. With todays market, putting our two transactions in Marks hands provided us with a lot of knowledge, removing most of the stress we expected. He went through the best methods on showing our house to get the best offers which worked perfectly. At the same time, he was always available for us to view condo?s and townhouses listed on the market and just listed properties as the came on the market, offered us advise on the good and bad of each property we walked through, having to arrange showing times with the sellers agents and owners. Again, no stress, allowing us to focus on getting exactly what we were looking for. With all the properties we looked at, we were able to purchase what we wanted where we wanted, and within a price point we set as our maximum. Over all, Marks knowledge and expertise was spot on for our needs through out. We would definitely recommend any one looking to sell and buy, look Mark up. You won?t be disappointed. Steve and Paula

Having Mark Montross help me sell my condo made the entire experience an easy, non-stressful one. Mark had helped me sell my previous residence 4 years earlier and that was a great experience, so calling him again was a no brainer. From the first consultation it is extremely evident Mark has done this many, many times before and knows from experience the right way to go about every aspect of the selling process. No stone was left unturned and he made sure together we executed each major or minor detail the way it needed to be done. He did a very thorough and exhaustive market analysis, leaving no doubt the asking price we landed on was fair and based on the current market. I cant imagine how he could have put together a better marketing package - complete with great photography indoors and out, drone footage and a 3D tour. Once offers came in he worked tirelessly, even after hours. Even after the entire process was complete he made sure to check in and offer advice for my future real estate endeavors, even though I had moved to another state. If youre looking to buy or sell real estate in Vermont I 100% recommend Mark Montross. You wont be disappointed.
