Mark was patient throughout, explaining each step in the process as I was a first-time buyer. He also recommended some local contacts for mortgages, which was helpful. However, I did experience some downsides. I didnt feel he made an effort to negotiate on my behalf, nor did he advise me on how to approach negotiations myselfaEUR"looking back, I believe I could have gotten a better deal. He also encouraged me to accept an offer that ended up being listed months later for over $150K less. He strongly recommended a home warranty that, in my experience, hasnt provided value aEUR" it hasn't covered any of the issues Ive submitted so far. At the end of the process, a fee was introduced that hadnt been previously mentioned. He said it was from his company, but from what I understand, such fees are often discretionary or typically covered by agents rather than customers. After I pushed back, he agreed to cover half, but the way this was handled left me uncertain about his overall approach.
