About Marilyn Ackerson
Why Choose Me As Your Agent? I am a true Floridian! I was born and raised in Hillsborough County, Florida. As a young adult, I lived in Polk County briefly. My husband and I have raised our two daughters in Ruskin, where we built our home in 2011. When my girls were younger I stayed home with them and worked part-time in a financial office. Shortly after our youngest daughter was born in 2013, my husband joined the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. After being at the financial office for 10 years and becoming the office manager, I decided I wanted a change in my career. I took the real estate class with a friend and discovered very quickly that I am good at it. I jumped in with both feet and have worked with clients on everything from vacant land to several multi-million dollar homes across the state. Thus far, I have been fortunate enough to work all the way from Nassau County to Sarasota County and I am still expanding! Outside the state of Florida, I work with agents all around the world. Keller Williams Realty offers a large global referral network of agents. I believe in giving back to my community and have organized several successful community clean up events on the roads of Apollo Beach and plan to continue the effort to keep our community beautiful. On top of that, Keller Williams South Shore picks a new, local charity to sponsor every year. Not only do we collect a donation, but we also get hands on, helping with whatever that charity needs from us. When we aren't working, you can usually find our family out on the water enjoying the Florida sunshine. Our family loves to go snorkeling around the islands or offshore fishing. At the end of the day, you can usually find us dining at any of the local restaurants that offer a nice water view. My job is to make the real estate buying and selling process as simple as possible for you. I truly enjoy what I do for people. Let an expert help you, these are very important decisions. There is a reason why we are required to do continued education classes regularly. Real estate laws and contracts are different in every state. On top of laws being different in every state, zoning codes can vary by county. I can't stress enough how important it is to use a licensed agent or an attorney to represent you when conducting a real estate transaction. Please reach out to me with your real estate needs and I will speak to you with no obligations.

Our team has adopted two local roads and we host about four community clean up events every year.

FAQ
I would start the process by getting your financials in order. You will need a pre-approval to see some properties. Go ahead and start speaking with your lender. If you need to find a lender, that's no problem, we partner with several to make the process easy.
Start packing. If you are serious about selling your home, pack up everything you do not use on a regular basis. Buyers need to be able to see themselves and their belongings in the home and that can be difficult for some people.
I have worked with everyone from first time home buyers to large investors. No two transactions are ever the same.
Recently, I had a seller that lived out of state and needed to sell fast. Unfortunatly, his renters had left the place a mess. I was able to quickly get get contractors in for repairs. We ended up going under contract before we had it listed! The buyer stopped in during the construction and loved it!
I decided to take the class randomly with a friend. I had been trying to stay home with my children and I was going nuts. I passed the class and the state exam on the first try. As soon as I started showings, I knew that I found my perfect career!
As an agent, I continue to stay up to date on the latest real estate classes. I usually take several classes a year. I have even taken some of the same classes. Not because I don't understand but, because things change very quickly in this industry. Education is vital to my growth as an expert in the industry.
