About Lisa Major
I grew up in Haverhill MA, attended St. Anselm College and then, graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with my Master's in Social Work. I worked for several years as an in-home family counselor in NC. My husband, Barry, and my two sons, Colby and Drew and I moved to Salem NH in 2007 to be close to family. This was when I started my career as a Realtor in NH and MA in 2008. Real estate was my calling. I love to continually learn and have dedicated a lot of time to becoming an expert in all things related to real estate. I look forward to continue to make new connections in my communities and to provide an excellent home-buying and selling experience for my clients. My education and true desire to assist my clients in accomplishing their real estate goals allows me to focus directly on their needs. Community Involvement
My husband and I run a non-profit organization named Drew's Team Inc. to raise funds for families living with Cystic Fibrosis. We work with Boston Children's Hospital to disperse grants throughout the year. I also thoroughly love to sponsor youth sports because I feel strongly that kids involvement in sports helps to promote a healthy environment for families to thrive in.
HOBBIES/INTEREST
My favorite things to do outside of work are to work out at Drive Custom Fit in Salem NH, run the rail trails and ski in both our NH mountains and Utah mountains!
FAMILY
I have been married since 1998, to Barry Major, my husband and best supporter. We have 2 boys currently attending UNH College and the University of Utah. We also have an adorable beagle, Bruschi!

I suggest looking for an agent that you trust to help you through the process. I am an expert in real estate. You would not try to fix your car issues, you would bring it to a mechanic; if you are sick you go to a specialist, a doctor; if you are looking to make a home purchase it is imperitive that you protect your interests by hiring a professional realtor to show you all the ins and outs of the buying process.
My Seller advise is similar to my advice to a Buyer. Not all real estate agents are alike. Interview and select an agent that demonstrates knowledge, brings you understanding of the market and the necessary repairs/updates needed to sell your home for the most amount of money. It is important not to leave any money on the table, so hire a professional realtor.
I have worked with first time home buyers and their families. I have worked with all age clients as well, people selling their first home to upgrade to a bigger, newer home and also with retiring clients looking to downsize or consolodate and move in with family members. I have several investors I work with as well.
I listed a past buyer's home for sale as they were looking to buy a home with in-law potential for the client's mother to move in with them. We seamlessly sold their home and I helped them purchase a home in the right location to satisfy both the husband's business needs for a large garage and have space for them to update for his mother's apartment with them. I love working with extended families and all their members. It is satisfying to get them to the closing table knowing they are excited and happy.
I moved back to New Hampshire from North Carolina to be close to my family. I had a 3 year old and a 6 year old at the time. I wanted to be able to provide for my family and I could work at night and weekends when my husband could be home. I interviewed with Keller Williams and they were so responsive and family oriented. I chose them as well because they had the best education and I wanted to be knowledgeable and successful. I passed my NH exam and immediately studied and got my MA license as well to help my family and friends in MA too. I have never looked back. I am a full time realtor and continue to love working with all of my clients.
I was a licensed in home therapist prior to starting in real estate. Making a home purchase, selling your home after living there for 35 years, or selling your family's home for your parents is all very emotional. I am able to support my clients through the stressful process, both positive and negative stress that comes with a move. I take continuing education monthly to be prepared to tackle any hiccup that might present itself so that my client's do not have to manage that. I work to treat all my clients' like they are the only ones I have to focus on and they feel educated on the process, supported when timing feels rushed and happy at the closing table.
