The inspection revealed a few minor issues, and I was able to negotiate seller credits to cover those repairs, which gave my buyers peace of mind and some breathing room after closing. What made it memorable was the closing day. When they got the keys, they told me this was the first home in their family history that they owned rather than rented. That sense of pride and security made the whole journey worth it—for them and for me.

Before real estate, I worked with people with disabilities, supported at-risk youth through community programs, and helped people find employment opportunities. That work taught me the value of patience, advocacy, and truly listening to people’s needs. I was inspired by Douglas Haney to take that same passion for helping others and channel it into real estate. Today, I get to combine my background in customer service with real estate expertise to guide clients through one of the biggest decisions of their lives.

? First, I completed 120 hours of real estate courses covering principles, Ohio law, finance, and appraisal. It was like going back to school, but focused on everything you need to guide buyers and sellers. ? Then, I went through a state and national licensing exam — a true test of what I’d learned. ? To officially start, I partnered with a brokerage, where I had support and guidance as I began working with clients. ? Within my first year, I had to complete 20 more hours of post-licensing training to sharpen my skills. ? And even now, every 3 years I complete 30 hours of continuing education to stay current on laws, ethics, and best practices. It’s not just a test you pass once — it’s ongoing learning to make sure I can truly serve my clients well. My background in customer service and helping people prepared me, but this training gave me the professional foundation to succeed in real estate.
