I chose this particular agent based on her California roots, hoping shed understand where I was coming from, especially since I'm native to California and unfamiliar with the New Mexico market. Unfortunately, that initial excitement quickly faded once our working relationship began. The house sat on the market far longer than expected. While some delays were beyond her control, I couldnt shake the feeling that she was prioritizing her own interests over mine. The way fees were structuredaEUR"front and back of the loanaEUR"felt excessive, especially given that I was already upside down on the property. It didnt feel like I had an advocate; it felt like I was being squeezed for every dollar. Her professionalism was inconsistent at best. For example, despite my repeated requests, she failed to provide the final closing amount until late on a Friday afternoon (4 PM California time), leaving me little to no time to coordinate with my bank. When I called seeking help, she dismissed me, saying she wouldnt be aEURoenickel and dimedaEUR? and even suggested severing the contract. What she didnt know was that Id read our agreement thoroughlyaEUR"I knew our contract expired in January. Needless to say, I wont be working with Linda again. Whether this is a reflection of broader issues with customer service in Albuquerque, I cant say for sure. But from my experience, too many professionals here seem to look out only for themselves. Thankfully, I know the industryaEUR"and while I may play it cool, I'm far from uninformed. Buyers and sellers: find a realtor you trust and stick with them. That trust makes all the difference.
