Know everything you can about the home, the lending process if you are financing, and find a trusted realtor who will put you first and guide you through the transaction.

Ask questions. If you're going to hire a realtor to market your home, ask what they will do, find out how long they have been doing real estate, ask for suggestions in setting your home up for sale, and what you can do to bring the most significant financial impact when selling. Do they understand the transaction process? Do they know the new guidelines for realtors and you as a seller?

I am fond of all of them. Some are easier than others, but that is the nature of what I do. Recently, one of the transactions I handled was with a buyer who had never seen the property in person, only online. It can be scary for the buyer and me. I did extensive research and put myself in their shoes to help them get as much information as possible so they could make an informed decision, even though they could not personally see the property. I made sure they knew as much about it as if they were here themselves. They are happy with the outcome. That was rewarding.

I had a bad real estate transaction and decided there had to be a better way. I got my license, and the rest is history. I think of that transaction a lot, and it helps me do the best I can for the people that I work with.

I have been in real estate for over 20 years. I have handled many transactions across all areas of real estate, including investment properties, business start-ups, farms, residential homes, and vacation homes. Everything is different, even in the same areas. Every transaction needs full attention. I love people and care about the outcome. I want them to be happy with their decisions because it is a large part of everything they will do after they close: family, shelter, and just day-to-day living. I stay informed and keep up with new guidelines and rules so I can keep my clients safe and ensure their investments are as solid as possible.
