We bought this home and closed escrow the first week in December 2021. A rent back agreement was in place for the first three weeks and as part of the agreement the seller was required as part of the contract to get renters insurance after the close of escrow. We also had to obtain owners insurance. Kelly did not follow through on having the seller obtain renters insurance and during the leaseback period the home was significantly damaged with pet and human urine, down to and through the sub-flooring. We had to change the floor vents, baseboard, carpet and hardwood, and treat the subfloorIng to remove urine. We also had to clean urine off of the walls and repaint. I am pregnant and we had to live in these conditions with our 1year old daughter while getting the repairs. We asked Kelly to follow up with the seller and she replied it was out of her hands and her seller refused to be accountable for the damages. She also took no accountability for failing to have the seller obtain renters insurance which was clearly written into the contract and brought to her attention. This too she dismissed. I am a licensed agent in California and this is a lack of accountability and extremely poor service. In a hot market it is easy to be complacent, which she is. My husband now have to pursue civil damages if we want any type of reimbursement.
