About Kelly Lawson
Team? Nope, I am not part of a 'team.' Before you go with a 'real estate team' or just a name on a sign, let's talk about the difference. You hire me; you get me full-time, I don't hand you off to someone that doesn't have my experience. When you have questions, you call me, and I answer. Or text or email, as I communicate based on your needs, not mine. On your timeline, when you need to communicate. You can reach me any day of the week, and if you can't contact me, then I have a plan for that as well. My promise is to get you 'home' or 'sold' with me, the person you hired with you along the way during every step of the way: no sub-agent or transaction coordinator. Your agent is addressing your questions with no handoffs to someone new you did not interview or hire. Yes, that is possible. No, I am not a one-person show. I have the support of highly qualified and trustworthy working partners, peers, and vendors to support you and me as we navigate your buying or selling process. Yes, this is possible, as I will never take on more clients than I can handle. I am not trying to put my name on every sign in the county or state. However, I am just trying to provide high octane service to my clients, my friends. I know you deserve that, as I know that is the service I expect. I HATE unreturned phone calls, so I return phone calls. I hate having to go to bed with questions I have to wait till tomorrow to have answered, only to learn that the person that made a response will have to get back to me once they talk to someone else. I HATE the run-around. I know you do too. Do you know what else I hate about the standard level of service in today's world? I hate having to apologize for calling AGAIN because I have had a returned call or email. I promise I will not make you apologize for tracking down an answer. Nervous about your property adventure? Don't be. As an agent who works for you, I will be with you every step of the way. Every home, buyer, or seller is different, and I am a different kind of agent. I can share with you a wealth of knowledge and expertise about buying and selling real estate here. The real estate market is not the same everywhere; that is why you need someone you can trust for up-to-date information. I am eager to serve, and here are some of the value I can provide to you. The real estate market is not the same everywhere; that is why you need someone you can trust for up-to-date information. I am eager to serve, and here are some of the value I can provide to you. NEED TO FIND YOUR NEXT HOME? You need someone who knows this area inside and out! I AM that someone. SELLING YOUR HOME? When it's time to move, you need someone that has been there themselves. Someone that will advertise your home put it in front of prospective buyers, negotiate the offer, handled the making of the contract, update you during the process, handle task promptly, negotiate inspection request and provide accurate market data. I will advise and be in touch up to and beyond closing, and I AM that someone that will help a challenging and sometimes emotional task easier. I'm not particularly eager to talk about myself and my achievements. I am blessed by God to have worked with wonderful people I have known and those I met along the way. For the last ten years, I have been privileged to have achieved a Five Star Houston Area Realtor rating from my very first transaction to my most current. During the last eight consecutive years, I have attained the Five Star Professional Award and published in the Texas Monthly Magazine each year. It's all about service with me; that is what I am about and my number one goal. If we get down the path and find that this is not the right time for you to buy or sell, it's not the right time. Or we might find that the house we thought was perfect, well it's not. My former clients will tell you that one of the first things I tell them is that I want you happy the day of closing and afterward. When my Kroger basket runs into yours, I want you to want still to talk to me and not want to run away.

FAQ
Start with a lender or REALTOR® that you have met with and trust. Your best choice is not always your friend or family member or someone that your friend recommended. You will be spending time with your home team, and you must be comfortable working with them. Once you find your team - get that pre-approval before you look at any home. You must start looking at homes within your qualified range; you don't want to begin disappointed if you find a home that your lender will not approve for you.
Find a REALTOR® you trust and feel comfortable with; you will be spending a great deal of time within the coming days. Interview a few, and don't go with the one that tells you yes to every question you ask. You don't want you agent telling the buyers agent yes to all their request. It would help if you had an agent that will tell you the truth about pricing, listing, marketing, and all in detail in selling your home.
Hmmm, interesting question. People, I have worked with people looking to sell their home to upsize, downsize, move close to family, or because of work. I have worked with those buying their first home and those selling their home of 30 + years. I have assisted excited and thrilled people during every step of the process; others have been conflicted with their family home's sale. Mainly I would with people starting something new, a new chapter in their lives, and it is my delight to help with the process.
Wow, it's hard to think of a transaction that I have not been fond of in my career. Even those that start or become choppy are ones that I am fond of - mainly because I get attached to the people. This year, 2020, has been a different year, as we all know. Still, while helping with relocation clients, first-time homebuyer, a sweet couple downsizing, or with a family moving to another site while dealing with death amidst the transaction. I find that I am fond of being involved and doing what I can to help people with an extensive process in their life. COVID-19 has also allowed me to become more attached to my clients. I have been allowed to step up and help take additional care during the process. Be it being on-site during all showings to ensure my home sellers' safety to ensure that my buyers are safe as they walk through possible homes. I am fond of helping, and I have been able to do more this year because of COVID-19.
Well, I will shorten the story of how I started in Real Estate, so I won't bore you too much. I wanted to be able to go to more events with my kids in high school. Working in Newspapers (Huntsville Item, The Conroe Courier, and Houston Community Newspapers) since 1993, and in the position(s) I held, there was little time during holidays or anytime be a mom or the mom I thought I wanted to be. All the kids came to my house and camped out until they had to go home. So I left newspapers with no idea what I would do but make the football games, show up to Band Booster Meetings and be available. Then a friend and REALTOR asked me to meet with her; she suggested I make a good agent-based on management and knowledge of project management. I never thought myself the REALTOR type, yet I jumped and glad I did. I did find I didn't fit the agent stereotypes, I know that, but to be truthful, many agents do not. I stayed in real estate because I love the hunt for a home for my buyers, the marketing for my sellers, and the making of new friends along the way.
I laugh with my husband when we talk about the path that has to lead me to be a real estate agent. I went to school at Sam Houston State to be a photographer (back when we used film, f/stops, and math), worked in retail, newspapers taught me marketing, advertising, technology, and I was on the ground floor when the internet was rising. I used a DOS email account! EVERY bit of my background helps me to be a REALTOR®. I use tools from my previous lives every day. I also learned never to be afraid of something new, so I learned to get all the available education and training, and I do as time permits. COVID-19 has afforded me that time this year. I know one thing, I don't know everything, and I can always learn more.
