About Karen Parnes
Karen has over 15 years of experience in real estate. She started her career in Architecture before transitioning to real estate sales, where she produced over $140M in sales (over 220 sales), mostly in Montgomery county. She was #15 and #11 agent in Maryland according to "Best Real Estate Agents in America" by Real Trends and the Wall St. Journal. She co-managed the Maryland market for a national brokerage during its peak growth where she mentored and trained many agents and helped them grow their careers. In 2019 Karen opened her own brokerage, NextHome Your Way which was born out of the need in the industry to refocus and remember who is supposed to be in the center of the transaction- the client. Everything is done through the filter of our main value - Humans over Houses. From our signs that market your home and its features (and not a Realtor) to making sure that every one of our agents is well trained and working with the best vendors available. We meet each client, understand their specific needs and together, craft a personalized plan that is right for you. Through transparency, education and advocacy, our purpose is to support you to make informed decisions while simplifying a complicated process and reducing the stress involved in a transaction. FAQ
Take the time to choose and agent, meet with them for an initial consultation and get pre approved with a lender before starting on your home buying journey. This can save a buyer a lot of time, money and disappointment. Just clicking online to see a house with various agents can be very confusing. Especially in this current market where homes go quickly, it's important to have a professional on your side who is knowledgeable and responsive.
With the many options available these days for selling, speak to someone who understands the different options and can offer you the right ones based on your needs. Selling your home should not be a one-size fits-all transaction.
1st time home buyers, sellers, investors, buyers who need to sell first...I've worked with them all.
It is extremely hard these days to get a seller to agree to an offer that is contingent on the sale of the buyer's property. As pessimistic as I was, I was able to get that done twice. It was a reminder that nothing is impossible. With the right terms and a lot of communication, it can be done.
I started working with a broker who was an architect too, much like myself today. She would prepare homes for sale to help get the highest price for them, before staging was as popular as it is today. That was my first dip into the profession.
I pride myself in educating my clients throughout the transaction, so that they are able to make informed decisions, but I also have a buyer's webinar, a home buyer's and home seller's class and personal meetings and presentations that explain the process, based on your personal needs.
