As part of BruingtonHargreaves (formerly Modern Living Sonoma), I combine local knowledge with data-driven strategy to deliver exceptional results for every client. Whether you're selling a wine country estate, buying your first home in Windsor, or investing in a Healdsburg vacation rental, I bring the relationships, insight, and experience that make a difference. Experience & Expertise I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Pacific Union College with a BBA in Finance and was inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta honor society. Over the past five years, I've sold nearly 200 properties valued at over $150 million and been closely involved in more than a dozen renovation and new construction projects. FAQ
1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Be patient, but decisive. As one of Sonoma County's top real estate agents, I see buyers miss opportunities all the time because they are unsure or afraid to commit. Whether you're a first-time home buyer, looking for luxury properties in Healdsburg, or searching for vacation rental opportunities in Sonoma County, preparation is key. Spending time to understand and evaluate what you're looking for—whether it's a home in Santa Rosa, Windsor, or the Russian River communities—will give you the confidence to make a decision when the right opportunity arises. On the flip side, I see many people get in over their heads trying to rush into a decision they weren't prepared for. Do your homework, understand the local market trends, so that you are both patient and decisive in your search.
2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Pricing is key. As a top listing agent in Healdsburg and Sonoma County, I've learned that sellers often reach too far because they feel their home is unique or want to leave themselves 'room to negotiate'. This almost always has a negative result on the final sales price. At BruingtonHargreaves, our sellers achieve 100.4% of list price—2.5% higher than any other brokerage in the county. We don't subscribe to pricing houses artificially low to incite bidding wars, as this can set buyer expectations too low. Instead, we use data-driven strategy combined with cutting-edge digital marketing to price accurately for what the market will bear. So prep your home, make it shine, and price it right—that's how we deliver record results for sellers.
3. What types of clients have you worked with?
I've worked with a diverse range of clients across northern Sonoma County, including Healdsburg, Windsor, Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Petaluma, and the Russian River communities. I work with investors purchasing vacation rental properties—we've facilitated over $20 million in vacation rental transactions—navigating complex exchanges, financing, and ownership structures. I also specialize in luxury real estate, having completed 15 luxury transactions over $2m valued at over $30m. I work with move-up buyers looking to upsize, downsizers, and first-time home buyers getting their foot in the door. I also handle probate sales, trust sales, new construction projects, land development, and everything in between. With nearly 200 properties sold valued at over $150 million, I've developed expertise across every aspect of Sonoma County real estate.
4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
It's fresh in my mind as it just recently closed. Our sellers had owned and loved their home for 47 years, but had it on the market for over 2 years with 2 different brokerages without a sale. As Sonoma County real estate experts, we took over the listing and looked at the bigger picture of their financial and timing goals. We repositioned the property with our cutting-edge digital marketing, new staging, and strategic upgrades to highlight what their home had to offer. Rather than hide from the personality of the home, we embraced it. With this data-driven approach to marketing, we attracted a buyer who felt it was their dream home and closed the sale within 2% of list price after 2 years of it sitting on the market. This is the kind of result that comes from combining deep local expertise with modern marketing strategy.
5. How did you get started in Real Estate?
I was born and raised in Sonoma County with deep roots in local real estate through family involvement in development, financing, and sales. In college at Pacific Union College, while obtaining my B.B.A. in Finance (graduating Summa Cum Laude), I decided to dive into real estate as a career path. I obtained my license in the summer between my 2nd and 3rd year of college, had the opportunity to work and learn under the top producing agent in Sonoma County, sold my first solo listing that summer, and I've never looked back. Today, as part of the RealTrends No. 2 Team in Sonoma County and No. 1 Team in Healdsburg, I'm proud to serve clients throughout northern Sonoma County.
6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
I bring a well-rounded, data-driven approach to Sonoma County real estate. My education background is in finance and accounting—I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.B.A. in Finance from Pacific Union College and was inducted into Sigma Beta Delta business honor society. This financial expertise helps me guide clients through what is likely one of the biggest fiscal decisions of their lives, whether they're purchasing a luxury vineyard estate, investing in vacation rentals, navigating new construction projects, or selling their home. I've also been intimately involved in over a dozen successful residential renovation and new construction projects, giving me comprehensive knowledge across every aspect of real estate in Sonoma County.

Jonathan was truly exceptional as our real estate agent. As a family friend, he made us feel comfortable and supported every step of the way through buying our first home. His responsiveness and availability were great?he always made time for us, answered our calls and messages quickly, and kept us updated on every detail. We felt we could trust him completely, especially when navigating any challenges that arose. He had excellent contacts for inspections and other services, and his strong negotiation skills ensured we got the best possible outcome. We couldn?t have asked for a better partner in this process. We highly recommend Jonathan to anyone looking to buy or sell a home!

Johnathan was professional and very prompt, always getting right back to me immediately. He is very knowledgeable regarding properties in my area. As my place was a vacation rental,he kept abreast of all the new laws and ordinances. Which was very valuable in selling my property. Worked around all the scheduled dates that were already booked. Another Realtor that showed my house was overheard (by a workman, employed by me) comparing my property to one above trying to down sell my place. Johnathan promptly created a binder/book that was left on the counter for all potential buyers to see all comps in the area. The photos of my place were also awesome. Clearly professional. Once my place sold I needed help with furniture removal. As I am older. He researched and found a company that would move all contents and resell them for a fee. I encourage anyone who is buying/selling property to engage with him and his team.

Jonathan was referred to us by a friend and is fantastic. We live in San Diego and bought a home in Santa Rosa. Jonathan and his team made it painless as they screened dozens of homes and ran through endless comparison analytics and discussions. His team toured and videoed our top selections so we could narrow our decision remotely. A tough negotiator, Jonathan got us the price we wanted and made sure the inspections, walk-throughs and repairs were all done for a 21-day close. Highly Recommended.

Jonathan helped me to find and purchase my first home, and I could not have asked for a better realtor. Going through this process as a solo first time home-buyer, I had a ton of questions for him, all of which he answered thoroughly and patiently, always making me feel like he had all the time in the world to chat. He explained exactly what to expect through the process of both searching for a home, and eventually closing on one. When it came time for me to find a mortgage lender, he provided some great local recommendations, and talked me through how that process would work as well. The home I purchased had multiple other offers, and without Jonathans negotiating expertise, Im not sure I would be so lucky to live in the house I now call a home. I would highly recommend Jonathan for all of your real estate needs. Hes friendly, patient, eager to help, and extremely knowledgable. I cant say enough good things about him, and will definitely be utilizing his services for my future real estate endeavors.
