Moved to Charlotte from Pittsburgh, PA in 1999 he instantly fell in love with the growing city of Charlotte, the people in the town and southern hospitality. He quickly made a new home and has enjoyed watching this city grow and expand. After spending a decade in Corporate America with a Fortune 10 company, John decided it was time to venture out and work for himself. His love of real estate prompted him to be in business for himself but not by himself which is what led him to John Kurtz Homes under the brokerage firm of National Real Estate's Charlotte office. Working with John was an incredible advantage in our home search. He knows the neighborhood (we were targeting) inside and out - he's toured or sold nearly every house there. As a builder, he brought valuable insight into the home itself and realistic expansion opportunities, not just speculation. During negotiations, John quickly identified the seller's pressure points and used that knowledge to secure us a below-list purchase price plus a significant seller concession. That outcome simply wouldn't have happened without him. On top of that, John is just the man. Every future transaction we do in this neighborhood will be with him - no question.

My wife and I worked with John for nearly a full year as we tried to find our perfect home for ourselves and our newborn son. He was extremely knowledgable about the market in each neighborhood of Charlotte, and was an expert at negotiating and being an advocate for us as buyers. He was always quick to respond when we found a house we wanted to see, and was very flexible and available to drive all over town checking out homes. Another thing that made John valuable was estimating costs for renovation, since when looking at houses that needed work, he was always able to give us quick, accurate cost estimates to see if purchasing the home would be within our budget. I can't say enough about how great it was to have John guiding us through our home-buying journey!
