Real estate has fascinated me since I was 6 years old and watched my parents build their house from the ground up. Seeing their dream come true taught me the meaning of "pride of ownership." As a teenager I helped my dad with home-improvement projects and went to open houses for fun with my mom on weekends. After earning my Master's in Counseling, I applied those skills to a career in real estate and never looked back. I love my job! I am a native Vermonter and 3rd generation Benningtonian. My husband, Jon, is a general contractor. For the first 4 years of our relationship we lived in a tiny cabin (only 400 SF!) he rented in Sunderland. The first house we bought was a foreclosure fixer-upper in Shaftsbury. We did a complete gut renovation (without killing each other), which was thrilling and eye-opening, I learned so much. Then we bought 40 acres to design & build our dream home. It has been an incredible labor of love... literally from sketching it on paper to framing, windows, doors, siding, insulation, floors, etc... making every decision along the way (ask me about the only major disagreement LOL). We moved in right before the COVID shutdown in March 2020, got a puppy, I opened my business, then we built the porches, garage and conference room, did landscaping, and ordered a swimming pool (coming soon!). It's been a whirlwind, but the finish line is in sight for this dream home come true.
