The first piece of advise is to get fully pre-approved first. So many times buyers go to see a home, fall in love with it and then start the process of getting pre-approved only to find out in the time frame the house went under contract or they were not able to qualify for the home loan. I always have my buyers get pre-approved before we go to see homes and help them through that process. I also really pay attention to what exactly the buyer is wanting in a home so that I can show them homes that they will be happy and excited to see that meet their wants and desires in a home. Also, I take the time to explain the process from beginning to end in the home buying process so that it's not so scary to them and they feel comfortable that I explain each step as we go through it.

I first really take the time to sit with the sellers and listen to see why they are selling their home because there are different life events or challenges that people are dealing with. I would share with the sellers in our very first interview the steps that will be taken in the home selling process so that they feel completely comfortable. I answer any and all questions that they have and still offer that they can call me 24/7 if a question pops up. I also walk through the home with them and give them advice on decluttering and helping them with staging so that the professional photographs that I have taken on each listing look outstanding. You have one chance to catch a buyer's eye and get them to want to see the home and so I do everything I can to guide them through that process to get the home fully prepared.

I first and foremost want to say I love what I do. I love helping people and I know that is what I was put on earth to do. I listen a lot to what their needs are and what their desires and dreams are. I have worked with many seller and buyers over my 23 years in real estate. I love giving keys to a first time home buyer or having those that need to downsize due to changes in the chapter they are in in their lives or a veteran who has never owned a home or one that has just come back from serving our country. Some clients have come to me when they are behind in payments and I do what I can to first and foremost save their homes from short sale or foreclosure and I am proud to say that I have done so many times over the course of my career when they did not think there was any hope left. I am a problem solver and will do anything it takes to help my clients. I walk them through the different scenarios that would make sense for their current situation. I have also worked with investors to find them properties to acquire and renovate those homes and to help them sell them after the renovation. With commercial real estate, I have been able help clients who are looking for retail or industrial leases and sales and purchases of commercial properties. One of my clients came up with my tag line "When You Become A Client, You Become Family". I treat every client as if they are my family. I fight for my sellers and get top dollar for their home and save them on as much I can during the process of selling their home. I fight and go the extra mile to get my buyers offer accepted. You have to respectful but persistent in this market that we are in. You need someone to fight for you and I am that person! I love being a Realtor.

Recently, I had a veteran client of mine that never owned a home in his life. I was taken back when he had shared that with me. He didn't think in his later years that it was possible now more than when he was younger to be able to buyer a home. I told him that I would be here with him every step of the way and let's make this happen. He was unsure we could get it done and I calmed his fears. I immediately got him and his wife in touch with my lender and helped gather the documents he would need for her. Within a matter of a day, we got him and his wife approved! We started looking at homes and we found the one they both fell in love with. I immediately contacted the agent and built a rapport with him. He shared he had other offers and I asked questions on what the seller was looking for and he shared that with me. I then got the offer over to him right away. I followed up with him and he complimented me on how professional I was and that he appreciated my tenacity on fighting for my clients. The seller ended up accepting our offer and the best phone call came next to my buyers. I told them I had some good and bad news and they got scared that they did not get the home of their dreams. I told them the bad news is you have to start packing because the good news is you just got your dream home. We all cried over that phone that day in sheer joy. It was a perfect transaction. The seller was so happy to pass her home onto a veteran and his wife. At closing day, to see tears in that veteran's eyes when I handed the keys to the first home he had ever owned was just priceless and I will never forget it as long as I live. Dreams do come true! One of my most favorite transactions of my entire career!

I was in law for 33 years and ran a law firm and all the firms cases and I had a client come in and he told my boss (the attorney) that he should get ready because he was going to steal me from him. Jim was the mentor at a Remax office in town and kept telling me every time he saw me "You'd be great in Real Estate". My daughter started playing travel softball and I had thought I would love to be there for her at her games, travel with her and her team and be a part of her upcoming college journey. I met with Jim and we went over everything. I took the test and passed on the first try and was so excited hearing the words "Congratulations! You passed! You are a Realtor!" Jim was an amazing mentor and I actually stayed in my law career and did real estate at the same time. It was definitely a challenge but I enjoyed it. Once my daughter committed to a college, I left my law career and was doing real estate full-time. That was 23 years ago and I have loved my career in real estate ever since. I love helping people with all of their real estate needs.

Due to my law career of 33 years and 23 years in real estate my clients get two for the price of one. I will always protect my clients from a legal standpoint and make sure that they are compliant in all aspects of their real estate transactions. I will never allow a client to be open to any kind of legal situation. I have also been certified as a Senior Real Estate Specialist to represent my senior clients in their real estate needs. I have also been certified as a Certified Distressed Property Expert specializing in helping those clients who behind in payments and facing short sale or foreclosure of their home. I have actually been able to save some from having to go through a short sale or foreclosure which I am very proud of being able to help them. I do as much education that I can because our industry changes all the time so I want to do everything I can be keep up to date on any and all educational opportunities I can to make my clients experience better. They know that they can turn to me to counsel them to the best of my abilities.
