Like most young men, James started his career following in the footsteps of his father. He enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Fire Support Specialist (Forward Observer), serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. After his second combat deployment, James transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard, serving as a Maritime Enforcement Specialist. From chasing illegal narcotics in the open seas to responding to boats in distress offshore, as well as here in the Charleston area. To this day, James continues to serve the great people of the Lowcountry by providing a service of excellence that cannot be defeated.
