We worked with Jim to purchase our home, and then again to sell it five years later to sell because our experience with him was so positive. Buying, we had just parted ways with a realtor who we felt had only positive things to say about potential homes (even when there were obvious concerns), wasn't responsive to new listings in the area, and seemed disorganized. Jim was the opposite: quick to respond; familiar with all the steps and processes that we, as first-time homebuyers knew nothing about and non-judgemental in explaining them to us; and, most helpfully, he was liberal in sharing potential issues with houses we would run into that we wouldn't have even considered. We never felt pressured into a buy, or that we were being upsold with Jim: he would honestly point out things that would age well, work that was done very well, features we would have missed, and in the same breath point out features that would be expensive to maintain, structural things that might become a problem in the future, work that looked nice but might not be lasting--even when we were viewing homes a little above our budget that he could have made more money on. Because of this, we bought our home with no surprises: we knew its strengths and weaknesses and were consistently happy with a perfect home for that stage in our life. Selling, Jim was equally honest. When we wondered about expensive remodel work that we ought to do to raise the value of the home, he was upfront that he didn't think it would raise it enough to recoup our costs--again, even though he would have made more from the sell. He also noticed things that we could reasonably fix or improve that would help our ability to sell that we hadn't thought about, and was able to offer professional references when asked, or tell us we could likely do it ourselves for less, when that was possible. He knew the market well, and we were able to sell for a good price even though the market wasn't a great time to sell, in part because of his insight. We have only positive things to say about our experience with Jim, and are happy he was able to walk us through both buying and selling our home.
Jim sold our house when the market was moving slower than expected. Jim expertly gave us advice on the improvements we needed to make before home went on market. Additionally, Jim was very attentive to our needs during the entire process.
Jim is outstanding and a thorough professional who knows his market. He helped me sell my property in less than 2 weeks after I contacted him. Jim tells you what it will take to sell, the price it will best to put on the market, He will also help with negotiating the deal. Very respectful, fully transparent.
