Interview your realtor! Make sure that they actually know what they're doing. Real estate is not about looking pretty and showing houses, it's contract work, working with negative emotions, having difficult conversations. And most importantly having a level and cool head for negotiations.

My most recent transaction was quite a difficult case. It was hoarding, and it took about a year to fully clean the house and get it presentable, market ready. It was one of the most challenging deals i have worked but we came out with more than we originally asked for, and I got to make my seller happy. That was the best part!

My mother got her citizenship in 2019, and her work would not approve her to take time off to get sworn in. So she took 2 days off! And 5 days after that got her classes started to get her license. I was very young, and I started helping my mother with her listings, eventually I just fell into the business! It's been 5 years since then, and I am now ABR accredited, as well as being a licensed auctioneer.
