About Gabe Winkler

The Big Island of Hawaii is an amazing place to call home. I love both the people who live here and our beautiful location. Having lived in Kona most of my life, I watched as our community in Kona has grown tremendously over the last 20 years. I started in real estate as a real estate appraiser and after several years working for lending institutions, I moved over into real estate sales in 2013. In 2015 I began working with Koa Realty in 2015. My background in the appraisal business has been beneficial to me helping clients understand the lending side of the business and negotiating the best price. I have a passion for helping people in real estate. I work both with existing Big Island residents looking to buy or sell and people who are moving here from the mainland and need expert assistance in navigating the difficult transition to finding a property in Hawaii. I am dedicated to going the extra mile to serve my client's needs. I am very blessed to have an amazing wife and three wonderful children. Living in Hawaii gives us numerous opportunities to enjoy the outside living. Some of my favorite hobbies here are surfing, ultimate frisbee and playing music. I am also a licensed pilot and regularly fly between the islands. Psalm 37:4.

Gabe was great to work with during the process of finding our new home in Kona. Trying to buy a home in this market when you don't live on island seemed nearly impossible, but after 6 months of searching we got one! Gabe knows the island very well and steered us away from properties that looked good in a listing but not so great in person. He definitely helped us find the home for us within our price range. He never showed us anything more expensive than we were comfortable spending. He was honest and up front about everything. He doesn't sugar coat things or make anything seem better than it is which I appreciate being 4000 miles away! He even found us a great mortgage broker and saved us a lot of money.
