1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Find a full-time real estate professional whom you trust based on their reviews, productivity and community expertise and involvement.
2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
In today's ever changing market, it's vital to have a real estate expert and a team working for you and beside you to achieve your goals before, during and after the sale of your property.
3. What types of clients have you worked with?
Over the past 24 years my team has helped over 2500 buyers and sellers. I've worked with first-time home buyers, senior citizens downsizing, young families growing into larger homes, investors purchasing multiple properties, snowbirds, foreign investors both full-time and part-time residents, restaurant service providers to retired CEOs of major companies. That's the beauty of this job. Meeting and helping so many different people achieve their goals.
4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
Helping our amazing next door neighbor downsize into a home on our same street. It's always bittersweet when a friend and neighbor tells you they are ready to move and selfishly you don't want them to leave your street or neighborhood. It was great that they found their ideal home on the same street and the timing was perfect for them. A big win for all of our neighbors!
5. How did you get started in Real Estate?
I never thought I would be in sales, of any sort. I have an Engineering Degree from Vanderbilt University and worked for several years in that field. When we decided to move our young family to Sanibel Island Florida in 2001, it was obvious that Engineers were not in high demand. Having become friends with the Realtor who sold us our first home on the Island, I asked if I could shadow him as an assistant and learn more about real estate sales.
The rest as they say is history. I hit the ground running and learned as much as I could from everyone.
In 2008, in the midst of the economic downturn, I decided to open my own Brokerage: Pfeifer Realty Group. Looking back, that was a crazy time to attempt any new business venture, but hard work and determination prevailed during those first few years.
I'm proud to say that we have grown to become the number one Brokerage in Volume on Sanibel Island and in the top 10 Brokerages in Southwest Florida. It's my team and staff that deserve the credit. They have created a culture of teamwork that is uncommon in this industry. I'm honored work with them every day.
6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
My Vanderbilt Engineering degree and Contractors License in the state of Florida have been extremely helpful over the years to help my clients understand the complexity of what they are buying and selling.
Over the past 25 years I've earned many additional designations by taking classes, but the real education comes from experience in this field. No transaction is the same, no individual goals and situations are the same, and the rapid changes in technology, and complexities of each individual property is the true classroom.
I don't want agents on my team that "dabble" in real estate as a part-time hobby anymore that I would want a Doctor that treats his practice like a hobby. Successful transactions are the true classroom. In fact our industry has become so complex that part-time agents are becoming rapidly left behind with a massive learning curve ahead of them.
The real estate field changes so rapidly that our team hold weekly "Team Huddles" to discuss all new and pressing topics and our staff holds weekly "Technology Deep Dives" to train and support one another so that no one is left behind.
