If this is your first home, it's not as complicated as you might think. THe first step is speaking with a lender to see if there are any programs you might qualify for. Working with an experienced Realtor will get you through the process and they can refer you to a reputable lender to make sure you get the best deals and find you the right home.

All Realtors are not created equal. You should interview at least 3 Realtors to make sure you're working with one that has a good marketing program, has the experience and drive to market and sell your home quickly and for top dollar and one that you get along with. After all, this is the biggest asset you own and you deserve to work with someone that appreciates the faith and trust you're getting ready to place in them.

I've worked with first time buyers, military, retirees, investors: it runs the gamut. What they all have in common is they trusted me to work in their best interests and get the job done according to their unique situation. Many of my clients have become long time friends because I work on a relational basis as opposed to a transactional basis. Many of the buyers I worked with became sellers years later and called me because they remembered how I treated them.

I worked with a renter that was certain they would not be able to buy. He was so grateful that I walked him through the process and got him to the closing table for less than he would have paid to get a rental. Another out of town client was able to handle the entire sales process of his family home remotely. Last year I helped the son of a previous seller to get his first house. I love my job!

I always had an interest in Real Estate because I realize early that it was the key to financial independence. I didn't get into it until my kids were grown because of the time demands it often requires. I'm happy to have helped more than one family get started on their road to financial wealth through educating them about how to leverage their first home to start a portfolio that will provide for them financially for the rest of their lives.

I hold several designations/certifications in RE and believe that education is the key to success. Specifically: SRES (Seneior Real Estate Specialist) is a designation that qualifies me to help baby boomers with their unique RE needs, and the MRP (Military Relocation Professional) certification qualifies me to help out service members with relocation and some of the benefits available to them.
