    About Earlene Brown | Justin Hess

    We were both facing major changes. After we met, we helped one another in ways we never could have predicted. Now, we use our shared bond for helping others to make a difference in our community through real estate. Earlene: At any moment, my life could change. I was on a transplant waiting list - the moment I got the call, my work in real estate would be paused, and I would go through the long recovery process of a double lung transplant. It was a daunting time. There were so many things to take care of. As the owner of Seaboard Properties for 25 years, it was hard to let go of the company and sell it, but I knew that I needed to focus on my health first and foremost. It was around that time I met Justin, who needed a home in Oregon. After talking with him, I recognized he had the honesty and strong work ethic that makes an exceptional REALTOR(R). I wanted him to join me, and he quickly became a tremendous asset and friend. When I finally received the call, I had to drop everything and go. Justin took care of my clients as I underwent surgery and began the recovery process. My doctor was in Seattle, and he wanted me to stay in the area for at least six months. My daughter was right there with me the day after surgery. She got me up and walking as soon as she could. At the time, I was aware that my own mother needed me more than ever. I worked very hard to recover quickly, with the help of an amazing team of people, so I could return to Coos Bay and be with her. I feel very blessed that after just three months, the doctor cleared me to return home. I was able to care for my mother before she passed. That meant everything to me to be there. I have always faced challenges head-on and try not to stress about the small stuff. It is the people in my life that matter most. Justin: My wife and I needed a change. We were bogged down, stuck in the same cycle of working and never having enough time to be together as a family. We wanted to feel connected and start an adventure. I had always wanted to live by the ocean, and she wanted to live in the forest. One night, I searched on Google, "Where does the forest meet the ocean?" The Oregon coast was the first place to pop up. My wife and I moved our family from Utah to Oregon, selling everything we had. We were looking for a simpler way of living, and letting go of most of our material belongings was part of that. We had faith that this was the best decision for our family - it just felt right. When Earlene and I began discussing whether or not real estate was the right path for me, I was nervous but also excited. In everything I do, I want to help others and make a difference. I knew it would be a lot to take on, but I had faith it would work out. She needed me just as much as I needed her. I have learned so much in this industry from working alongside her and having her as a trusted friend. Embracing the unknown has been the greatest source of adventure in my life. It has led to many incredible opportunities and experiences I would never have had if I didn't take a chance. Working together has been an exceptional experience for both of us. It wasn't a coincidence that our paths crossed; our unique backgrounds and diverse strengths make us an exceptional team.
