I recently helped a first time buyer who had just moved to the Nashville area for a teaching job. We met at a community board game night and quickly began the home search together. He and his partner fell in love with a very unique home, and that started one of the most memorable transactions I’ve had so far.
The seller was extremely old school and didn’t use a phone, email, or any modern technology, so coordinating inspections, walkthroughs, and the offer process took a lot of creativity and patience. During the final walkthrough, the door was locked and there was no way to reach the seller, so we ended up searching the property until I found the lockbox hidden in the crawlspace. The key inside was broken, but we still managed to secure a walkthrough shortly before closing and made sure everything was in good shape.
In the end, they closed on a home that fit them perfectly. These clients have since become great friends, and I get to visit them in the home and see how they’ve transformed it with their artistic style. It was a wild ride, but it reminded me how much I love helping people find a place that truly feels like theirs.
I’m a second-generation real estate professional. I grew up around the industry watching my dad work as a broker and owner in St. Louis, and I always admired how he helped people through some of the most important transitions of their lives. After leaving the military, I decided to pursue medical school, but once my son was born I realized that the lifestyle and hours weren’t aligned with the kind of father I wanted to be. I wanted a career where I could make a meaningful impact while still being present for my family. Real estate gave me that balance. It allows me to guide people through one of the biggest decisions they’ll ever make while being fully involved in my son’s life.
